It's been 15 years since the Clockworks had been sealed off- The Knights have given up on energy, their hopes crushed and destroyed.
And thus, The Knights have begun to go the more human route of life- Wood for houses, etc etc.
The threat of the Clockworks has gone to a minimum, with no remaining Hostile Creatures on the surface.
It's safe to say those below are dead or worse, Considering it's been fifteen years. . . People hardly remember them.
You are a student at Kamazachi High- Leading a normal life. . .

You start off with 20 points to form your Cipher stats.
Ciphers are based off of historical fiction, and have their own strengths and weaknesses.
EX: Hermes is a fire based Cipher, and is weak to Wind Attacks.
-
Weapons have three damage types. Bash, Pierce, and Slice.
Guns, Spears, and Rapiers are Piercing for example.
Shovels/Scythes/Smallswords/longswords/bastard swords+etc. are Slicing.
Hammers/greatswords/others are Bash.
Weapons have individual stats which stack with ST- Armor does the same thing with EN.

Awe

This would have been a safe bet had there not been a requirement to be at an academy....

The Spiral Order itself would have sufficed.

((Not to downplay the RP itself))

And is this vaguely a combat RP like Machinauts or are the stats just to limit the power certain characters have/may have in a post?

Nah

It's been Fifteen years- The Spiral Order is long dead.
Besides, People's powers are just now awakening, and nobody knows anything about the clockworks anymore- Besides the bookworms.
The clockworks is like greek mythology to people by now though, So... Hmhm, using that as a cover wouldn't be so difficult.
Time has eaten away at the world, and made things more modernized.

Anyhow- What's bad about this setting?
Also- Normal Knights would sort of just die if they went in- Blood spurting out the head.
And those that wouldn't die like that, Would just die to the evolved clockwork creatures.
Yes, Though Machinauts has nothing to do with this whatsoever.

Might kill Condemned?
Shit...
I can delay for some time, but. . .
How much time?
Actually... I move at the end of this school year to Oregon (I'm in Kansas!) So about three months perhaps.
That way I'll have something to do when I get there with everything set up.
But.
I still also want to do this while everything's fresh in my head.
If I delay it too long, it might end up like a certain RP where I believe... Sono and Archemiday? started the RP without I can't remember what'shisface
The guy who was in the RP I made Renao- His character was a thief.

Well, that's a given.

If the combat is as complex as Machinauts, I'm startled but I'd like to at least understand the combat. Though it's a given that it isn't based on any Machinauts lore and such.

The setting is...well, it's too close to what I'd imagine as a High School Anime RP that are the hype and such...it may or may not limit certain outside characters such as...well, no spoilers yet. It just might limit that lovely diversity with that idea of conformity that school brings out in even the most resistant (hipster intensifies)(sarcasm)

Though, now that you've expanded a little on that...hm. I may just have to sign.

Let me try...

There is a reason players do not have stats- Their Cipher does that for them.
For example, The Cipher has 20 strength, The character using said Cipher will have 20 strength, or effectively 200 damage per turn.
A target that is weak to the given element takes approximately 1.5 damage. If we stick with 20 strength, that'd be 30 which is 300 damage.
Something that is strong to it takes 0.5- 100 damage.
Something that nullifies an attribute takes NO damage.
Which is why support is literally the most important role- Every party member takes a turn (You can have a party of 4) while the support scans the target.
There are also items (Weapons and Armor) that give stat boosts, like +10 magic. Though it'll be a good while before you find any.

Hush hush post below me.

Name:
Dusa Tajanstven [[Pronounced Do-Sah Tahj-Ahn-Stt-Vehn]]

Appearance:
With skin as white as a ghost's, Dusa stands at 5'4" (1.63m) with her Long, unkempt Midnight-Black hair grown down to her tailbone. She has an average frame, thinner near the top, and widening a bit near the bottom. Her eyes are an odd Purple color, which becomes darker near her Iris, and otherwise has seamless skin -- not a freckle or birthmark to be found. Due to her constant all-nighters, Dusa has a noticeably grey area under her eyes, but that is often not seen below her hair, which is lengthy even in front. Specifically, it goes to her shoulders along the sides, and centers to her nose in the middle, causing a constant shadow to drape over the top half of her face. [[Essentially based off of this, but with color and body-dimension differences.
Her preference for clothing is often long dresses from her primarily dark-toned wardrobe. If the school has a dress-code of some kind, she'd keep her clothes at school, and simply change into them if a teacher isn't the type to nag their students on about proper attaire.

Bio:
Daughter to long-distance parents Dusa rarely talks of her home and/or past. Partially because there isn't much to say, and partially because she would rather speak of Dark-Alchemy and information which should be impossible to access at her age.
The truth of her past, however, was that she had practically raised herself with her parents travelling around the surface of cradle [[Either to other Cities (if those exist), or to Scavenge for Artifacts and the like for profit]]. Money was never an issue, because her family was quite rich (which explained why they were so eccentric with their desire to be anywhere but home) -- a fact that not many know about Dusa. With no parental guidance, Dusa taught herself from the age that her Nanny's were too creeped out to return (About 6 years old) up until 3 days prior to the start of this RP. She had learned anything that she could find, memorizing page upon page of eccentric books her Parents had brought home through their travels.
This wasn't, of course, the only thing she learned of, however. She still had access to schooling online which her parents had provided for her. She was particularly well-suited to analysis of situations and problems -- provided that she had enough information to go off of. And so, she did rather well, and she would have gotten 90% plus in any subject which required an analytical standpoint -- but due to the fact that she does have an outlandish way of thinking, she kept an almost completely constant 70% average in all subjects with home-schooling. (Mainly because almost every Written Response question she's ever come across derails into talking about Dark Rituals -- Multiple Choice questions were good, though).
She would have continued this way of life, too, until her parents had decided that it was a good time for her to leave her "dark sanctuary" behind, and get to know other people. Live people. Not from books. And... Not as ingredients needed for certain things within said books. And so, she was enrolled at Kamazachi High without question. There may or may not have been bribery involved on her parents' parts.

Requested items:
Armor: Robes, or just her regular attaire.
Weapon(s): Scythes, or Ritual Weapons (like this or this). That, or catalysts for better magic-usage.
Cipher: Dark-Type. I don't really know enough about Ciphers themselves to describe it if it has a physical form.

((Why, a Liminori RPG! I do believe I'll join this!

And worry not, Noel-Exside. Juli finds conformity illogical and overrated.))

Name: Juli Blank

Appearance: Unusually short- apparently Juli has dino cavaliers in her bloodline. Her metabolism and the amount of random doodads she refuses to part with have helped her balance her weight against her admitted over-eating. ("But I must taste another, soaked in orange juice this time! Science demands it!")

Juli's often seen in a simple, light overcoat that's far too big for her, covering whatever attire she happened to pick up first on that particular day; the inside has multiple hidden pockets that are lovingly sewn on. She wears an oversized set of glasses to correct her vision; one of the lenses is tinted green due to some mechanical augmentation Juli's done on it. Juli's got slightly curly, fairly short red hair that's quite unkempt.

Bio: Juli was always the type to ask questions.

Nothing else really bothered her. Many at the school labelled Juli an outcast due to her odd demeanor and short stature, but she shrugged it off. Nothing bothered her more, though, than an unanswered question.

Perhaps this was because the biggest question was about her parents. They... weren't there. Who were they? Where were they? Soon enough, Juli found out on her own. Her parents had abandoned her on a doorstep and ran off to the Clockworks to join some kind of moth cult. This made Juli as sad and angry as you might expect. But her spirit couldn't be broken. Juli never stopped asking questions. But now, it was never because not having an answer bothered her, but because finding an answer fascinated her.

The most visible feature of Juli's personality is her scientific curiosity, followed almost immediately by a strange sense of optimism and, well, maybe she's also a little crazy. Juli's easily distracted, especially by the thought of an experiment or by something she hasn't seen before; before doing something that requires her constant attention, Juli has to give herself a pep talk. Juli holds any close friends she may have in high regard.

ST: 2. "I must look into the mechanics of weight-lifting. There's potential there." (Weapon Damage/Cipher Normal Damage)
MA: 8. "There is no greater pleasure than to see an equation fall into place!" (Cipher Abilities (Elemental) Offensive/Defensive)
EN: 4. "Hmm. Maybe I should calculate my pain tolerance?" (Health)
SP: 5. "All that Moon Katana 3000 may well pay off!" (Turn order, Evade chance, Hit chance)
LU: 1. "So what is this stat anywa- YEOWWW! MY TOE!" (Critical Chance)
[1 point = 10 damage/health or 5% chance crit or 10% chance hit or 5% chance evade]

((Juli's stats make her good for healing or strategic Elemental damage, depending on what the party needs; her personality doesn't favor a leading role, and doesn't seem like the type to betray a close friend, so she'll take either one of the Side Character slots or the Dedicated Healer slot.

EDIT: Hmm, so this character deals 80 damage and has 40 health. What kind of damage can we expect to see from enemies? And is there a way to increase health?

Also, what happens when character HP reaches 0?))

@Everyone:

Apologies for the delay, I've been busy with school, the move, dishes, copious amounts of dishes, room cleaning and sorting, Annoying friends, And a certain game that I won't mention because... Reasons involving this RP.
@Sawhero: I'm moving to Beaverton.
@Saucy Knight: Sure, though I'll have to explain weapon stat boosts.
STR is your base damage, While a weapon can have it's own stats.
Example: Munukata
857 Damage
+10 Magic
@Ember Break: Flawless- About your stats however... With 0 Strength, you'll have 0 base damage, meaning that you'll have to rely on your weapon's stats to inflict damage. With 0 Magic, your Dark Type Cipher will be unable to do damage with the magic attacks unless your enemies are weak to Dark.
Really though, Magic is important. It can be used to heal, to do damage, to buff and debuff enemies, inflict Death or Light which instakills if you don't miss, And much more.
0 Endurance = 0 HP. WHY WOULD YOU RELY ON ARMOR HEALTH ARE YOU CRAZY
About your character's speed. You don't need to be in the battle to see the weakness, Because it will always be found out once the whole party has made at least one move, not including the enemies.
0 luck? Well, Not like you need to crit anyway.
I'll accept your app, if you do somethin about that equipment reliance neeeehhhhhhhhhhhhh
I'm perfectly fine with you being support. Perfect character for support.
@Xteri: Accepted, though as Side Character B.
It's unlikely sprites will ever be seen- Considering it's been Fifteen years since the Core, Clockworks, and by those, Energy; had been taken away.
This, however, results in a big biggy. Android Character. Energy.
@Doctorspacebar: I'm thinking of removing the "Dedicated Healer" role.
Accepted as Side Character C.
Damage from shadows will change over time. (Stronger+Stronger+Stronger+Loop.)
0 HP = KO'd. Requires Item revival, Similar to Pheonix Downs in Final Fantasy. Or magic. There's also the option of going back to the first floor.
--
NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE PLEASE GOD NOTE
There can only be 4 Party Members at a time.
Cipher stats are your character stats.
Ciphers have semi-physical forms. Dunno what to use to summon them yet.

I'll tell you more about that game I've been watching... When this is all over.
The MC, which there are no apps for, will make the party decisions, as in who to take with them to the clockworks.

GAHAHAHAHA

@Liminori
Nah, I actually planned on her to be like that to begin with. With the percentages you gave, having a loss in Vitality won't be an issue, anyways... After all... 20 * 0.05 = 1.00 (i.e. Because each point for SP gives 5% dodge chance... Dusa has a 100% dodge rate. She also has a 100% hit chance (without other modifiers) and will almost always have the first turn. Or the first couple turns, at that). Unless there's some cheap 100% hit weapon that an enemy out there has, she'll be just fine.
As for magic... I was tempted to give some points in that, due to her character type, but I'll just use Stat Points from level ups on it in the future.
With Str. relying on just the Weapon Damage is fine, because Dusa will be hitting the enemy so often. As I had said before "Chipping damage will overtake the enemy at some point."
For Luck... Who needs that? (Actually, I'll be upgrading that after I allocate a couple more points into Magic -- once Dusa levels up a bit more, that is)

Is it OP? Yes. But... It's allowed, right? Loopholes, man. All the loopholes. If you really want me to change it, I will, but... That'll be less fun.

((@Ember: On paper, it sounds great, but I'm not sure if hit rate caps at 100%, nor am I sure if there is a "base" hit rate that everyone gets in addition to their stats. High-accuracy attacks are commonplace in RPGs; D&D's iconic Magic Missile is a prime example, and homing missiles are known to exist in Sp'Knights canon.

And even if you're avoiding all attacks and dealing chip damage, the rest of your party might not be so lucky; chip damage isn't great for taking aggro.

Yeah, I know. It was my roundabout way of telling Liminori that it needed to be balanced better, or that Modifiers were needed. Still, it would've been nice having a character that could just blink away and say "Hey there" behind the enemy an instant later. While plunging swords into said enemy.

10 damage + Ritual Knife (17 damage) = 27 damage per turn.
10 magic + basic heal (5 points per magic) 50 Hp per heal. Not bad.

@Saucyknight: Accepted. Can't see that cliche at all mm no-
Gilded Griffin: 20 Damage.
Nameless Hat: It's... a hat. 9 Defense.

Your weapon will do pierce damage.
So basically, your total health is 59, Your total damage per turn is 70.
An easy 1 Hit KO for now.
A critical chance of 1.5%
A evade chance of 6%

-adjusts glasses-

Now, my intent is not to be an asshole, but rather to educate and advise. Seeing as how the ciphers are based off of fiction, and taking into account the Hermes cipher, let's assume they're all named after Greek/Roman gods. Hermes was not a fire god; he was a messenger, swift as the wind. Therefore, if there's a wind-based cipher, THAT one should be labeled as Hermes ,not the fire one. The fire one should have a name like Vulcan or Hephaestus, since both are incarnations of a fire/forging god (roman and greek, respectively)

Sorry, I just don't like seeing things that are factual misused. Like I said, this is only a suggestions, but maybe you should name the ciphers according to their actual purposes.

However....

Speed can be equated to fire as well, though not in quite the same sense, and you would normally be right in saying that Hermes is fast as wind, However...
There is no Vulcan/Hephaestus Cipher.
In fact, There are no Ciphers at the moment.
In this situation, Hermes is a fire type because while I understand your reasoning, I'm going above and beyond- Innacurate, so to speak, in saying that Hermes is fast enough that fire is his attribute.
In this situation, There are no grounded or permanently decided ciphers, But, I'm going to say now that Hermes is a fire type Cipher.
Fictional myths can be altered- Who said that Satan couldn't be God's tool? etc etc.

((Wouldn't the term be "religious" myths? "Fictional" seems to imply no one ever believed the myths; many ancient Greeks and Romans certainly did believe their own mythology. (Admittedly, this whole objection came up because of Liminori's last statement rubbing me the wrong way, which is probably a discussion for another topic.)

So, terminology aside, maybe we could give the Hermes cipher both fire AND some kind of wind-based attack. Lightning would fit pretty well, 'cause it burns like fire, and is commonly associated with wind ('cause thunderstorms).

The typical fire status effect of damage over time would work well with anyone who's good at staying alive. This could be through tankiness (which is what I'd imagine a cipher named after a forging god would be, 'cause armor) or evasion (the typical messenger defensive protocol in a nutshell), so I could see both the Liminorist and Kaijuhunterian interpretations working tactics-wise.))

Ember-Break
No. Well... Maybe.

@Liminori
I was meaning things like Special/Active abilities -- like buffs which could be maintained at a certain "Mana" cost over time... If there's Mana. Besides such things, I was also meaning Golems -- not as in Summons which act on their own, but more like Puppets which could be maintained and controlled so long as their Master willed them to do so.
Like mobile-eye golems, or something. Such things would be good to have for Scouting.

Also, since Dusa's Cipher is Dark... Wouldn't Heals be ineffective? Making certain spell-types more effective with different Cipher types would be interesting to see. The Dark equivalent to a Heal Spell could be like a Vampire Buff (a heal for how much the buffed character hits), or a simple Health Steal (direct Mana Damage from the enemy into Health for the caster).

@Cipher-name-convo
Why not just let Ciphers have their own names without any direct meaning needed? That would make "Personal Ciphers" a lot more connected to the character they're bound to. Like a companion of sorts... If they can communicate. Otherwise, like a treasured toy of sorts. Names could have meaning, or they could have just been whatever their user thought was a good name. Just like the characters themselves.

I really haven't cried this much in a long time.
It's always silent tears. No sniffling, No whining. Just... Tears. But I only cry for about... at most a minute.
Goodbye, Arisato.
May your bonds with the others keep you peace.
-
I will elaborate further, when I'm done with this all.
@Doctorspacebar: There is no Damage over Time.
@Ember Break: The only Golem/Puppet that could really exist would be old world mechanics, i.e. Energy, not... the inadvanced electronics that now exist.
While it would be interesting to have different types of elemental healing, that would be rather too complex in all honesty. However, I will say one thing. You can heal certain enemies to death- And Heals are heals, Cipher type does not change the skills it can inherit.
Health stealing wouldn't be too difficult, (Damage done = Health earned) so I guess I could implement that.

A little more on Ciphers; Ciphers are directly linked to your outer personality, how you act towards other people.
Ciphers aren't completely physical, They're more like the summons from the Final Fantasy series- One turn of them doing something for you, since your character isn't the one casting magic, but rather the Cipher. Ciphers do not express emotion, but rather are the embodiment of your own.
Now, A little useful thing.
The Fool
Magician
Priestess
Empress
Emperor
Hierophant
Lovers
Chariot
Justice
Hermit
Fortune
Strength
Hanged Man
In order, these are the 13 Main Acana, They represent your character's personality.
I really should have added This before character creation- But you don't have to answer this as yourself, but rather your character. What would he/she say?

Now, if you know what I'm basing this all off of, Please wait until a later time to reveal this. . .
Apparently, Based on my personal questions, I'm the Hanged Man.
Please add your Arcana type (Within the 13 please) to your character's Application.
-
Soon. . .
While this post may look big, it really isn't. That doesn't mean, however, that I didn't put a lot of time into it.

I prefer the FeMc theme, cuase I don't particularly like listening to 'Babybabybaby' every time I initiate a fight.
Sooooo..........
No qualms with the fact I totally went and comprised this story mostly out of [redacted]?
And that I don't know what I'm really doing?

The darkness lurks.

[[During that Tarot quiz I came across "Is ritual (yes) or intent (no) more important?" while in Dusa's mindset.

Dusa: "Rituals? What rituals? WHERE?!"

Here're the images. I suppose it was just one of those obvious results when you get a Darkness Loving mostly-insane type of character and put their personality to the test. But.. The Devil and Death aren't either part of the 13. So I guess Dusa's Main Arcana is the Hierophant.]]

WHAT DID YOU SEARCH DOCTOR OF SPACEBARS!

Name: Serph Lightson

Appearance: 6' 7" with neck length white-blonde hair, golden eyes flecked with silver, and tanned skin. He looks sort of thin, but is surprisingly strong, and because this is a high school, he's one of the "Cool" kids. Parents had been some of the first people to delve in the clockworks, and Serph still has a Kat Claw Kowl from his mother, although Serph just uses it as a hat and is unaware of its true purposes (Sort of like a beanie.).

Bio: Serph's father and mother had just taken him on his first trip to the clockworks, when they heard a strange noise. They realized that something was amiss, and they took the fastest route they knew to Haven. His mother was attacked by a Gremlin, and she never made it out of the clockworks. Before her (presumably) final moments, she threw him her Kat Claw Kowl. His father became more distant with Serph since his mother (presumably) died. And now, he hopes he can find a way to open the clockworks and get his mother back. Serph isn't exactly that smart though, so he's going to have to go through a lot of trouble to figure out how to open the clockworks. He wears the hat no matter what.

Cipher: Light Type Cipher (If named, Horus Cipher (If I'm allowed to try to name a cipher) (Horus' left eye is made of MoonLIGHT))

Weapons: LEAVE BLANK! (Request for A Warhammer, a bastard sword and a spear)

Armor: LEAVE BLANK! (Request for Stronger light armor (If medium armor is a thing, then that))

@Liminori Everyone I noticed did an app didn't make an age. Do we need to do that, or are we just all going to be the same age? The Arcana I got for Serph was The Fool, but before that I got The Moon. I request Serph be Side Character B, or if you're desperate, Main Character, but only if you're desperate.

I started this post yesterday.
WHEW.
Now I'd like to call to your attention that everyone only has two weapons. Why?
For one, I want to make sure you all have acess to multiple types of damage, So that you're not SCROOGED when it comes to enemies that resist certain types of Physical damage.
Second, Each character can only use specific types of weapons.
For example, Dusa uses Spears and Daggers, While Cydris can use a Pickaxe and a Shovel.

I'm slowly starting to piece together the beginning stage- We're getting there.
So, There are Three or Four more characters to go, depending.
I'll say Three for now, Because I have faith in you all.

7/8 slots taken.
The remaining character slots are!
Betrayer!
I'm looking for another Male character as Side Character D.
A girl as the Android because reasons
And the Betrayer... Could really be anyone, though he/she does not have a Cipher. Or do they. . . Mwuahahah
I will probably be the Android because I'm the host so bleh

Uhm...
I'd also like to note that relationships are permitted, whether it be with an NPC or another player character.
Which... Is... Kinda... Awkward.
.-.

I will draw art for each character.
If you feel I'm not doing justice to your character, feel free to draw him/her yourself.

So, This is where I apologize a little about Persona "Influencing" this RP.
When I first discovered Persona, P4 came out- and I wasn't really that into it.
P4 the Golden Animation came along. I gained a little more interest in it, And then promptly forgot it after a few months.
A month before now, I rediscovered the Shin Megami Tensei series, and my mind was blown- It was amazing. I started with P3, Because honestly, there are no big spoilers towards the other games.
Then, I stumbled across P5 for all of one minute.
I don't think I'm going to like P5.
So, basically, in a nutshell, Persona is amazing.
Now, I'm going to go attempt to print Dusa and Uwelt, and not draw anymore today because my head hurts.
Edit:
Who's the best toaster?
Aigis, Metis, or Labrys?
Funny, their names all end with an "is" sound.

Name: Lethes
Appearance: Lethes, as an Android, is suprisingly humanoid- If she were to wear a large jacket and gloves, you wouldn't be able to tell that she wasn't human. Beneath everything else, she has a suit to cover up most of the sensitive machinery.
Her left hand is detachable, held on by a chain, While her right is firmly attached. Her eyes are a dull blue-grey.
Her hazel hair reaches down to her neck.
Usually wears an old hoodie with stripes running down the sides.
Bio: The H.E.V. program was one to develop the perfect tool for destruction. Over and over, the scientists labeled each experiment as a failure, as they just weren't getting the results they wanted. Each time, the Android developed Awareness. . . Something to live for.
However, problems began to arise when the scientists neglected the feelings of each Android- as an object, not a living being.
Slowly, this caused the discontinuation of the H.E.V. program, Leaving empty shells behind.
Lethes was like the others before her, a mindless machination. The time between her fights against the others of her model were spent questioning the whys of the seemingly meaningless exchanges between the scientists- Through which she found out about personality, and emotion.
Driven by the meaning of life, Lethes began to fight not for the data and rules of the scientists, but to live. The fear of death caused her to continue to push on.
After the discontinuation of the H.E.V. program, Lethes was deactivated after a final match, of all the remaining Androids.

Liminori.
Dude.
You've basically left Condemned. It's not like those other RPs where you can just leave and everything will be fine. I really, truly did weave your character into the story; several important turning points in the plot depend on your participation. For example, Leeroy's wife (and Flynn's mother) is an important, active character in the story, and the reunion is an important plot point. When you leave, you throw that whole thread into disarray and force me to rewrite the story. And rewriting it in my mind isn't an easy job.

It's like being the card dealer, and suddenly the cards light on fire.
You sit, and watch as they burn- because you know that there's nothing you can do about it.
The smoke fills and burns your lungs, your heart screams out-
And yet you. . . Yet I sit, trying to play a card that isn't there.
Then I collapse, and my conciousness fades.

@Liminori

Liminori, I don't think the problem is initiative. It's not even that you have nothing worthwhile to say. The problem is simply that you've forgotten what character you're playing. You're playing as Flynn, a young man who, when he was only 13 years old, watched his father die because of something Ozlo did. You don't know your role, you say? This is your role - that of a boy who wants revenge for his dead father.

Like you, I develop writer's block and can't find anything to say when I lose sight of my character. In real life, people do things. Even if you're just watching events unfold, that's something, isn't it? Don't you form thoughts about what you observe? Don't you interpret what you observe in terms you can understand? Even simple things like that are a goldmine of story material.

Get into your character's shoes.
Don't lose sight of who you are.
