I'm back. And as dumb as ever.

So yeah, I checked back in-game and got myself a torto shield. Buuuuuut it wasn't all that well. I'm considering if I should even bother with it as it doesn't seem to do anything SIGNIFICANTLY good (I don't think the AOE blast is so good...), so I want to know if there is any uses for a torto shield. I think the normal one is either the same or better, and is alot easier to get. Any ideas?

P.S. I like shield-bashing in and landing blitz/peppy/chaingun charge using my CTR set xD

Compared to other shields, tortoshields have extra shield-bashing power, but you incur a movement speed decrease.

If you shield-bash a lot, then it might be worth it. If you value movement speed a lot, as I do, then it's not worth it.

Movement speed changes are only noticeable after med, so that's not a problem
The shield bash is stronger and looks better
They're just as resistant as any other 5* shield, but a more unique look
You can get one to be prismatic if you have one of those 4 personal colors
And you can get the shells for all 4 during a single event(this past event alone I got the shells for all 8 5*s and a 3* with a couple left over)

I would say keep it

3 of the tortoshields have unique status resist pairings

Shadow (Freeze/Stun) (only Shadow shield to resist stun)
Pierce (Poison/Shock) (only shock resist pierce shield and only poison/pierce shield with normal defense)
Elemental (Freeze/Fire) (unique status combo makes it optimal for Mount Krampus monsters)

The Shield bash is a nice touch but it is the Status/damage resist matchups you should look at.
