Me and Alfreton (Who made the wonderful Kataclysm fanfic you can find here) have been working on this collaborative story about the Iron Wolves, Dragons and Gold Wolves. You'll also probably notice a difference in our writing styles, which I feel reflects the differences in the Golden Wolves we've imagined and the Iron Wolves.

This is just a fanfic, so don't think we're saying this is how the squads ran, this is all for fun :D

So uh, with that over enjoy.

1: Plotting the beginning

"Ventorin. He's a high profile Morai target and also the head of a weapons manufacturing chain. Intel provided also shows that he's not held in the... Highest esteem. He's a perfect first target for the new Knights under our orders." Barrus pointed towards the screen behind him, showing some pictures of the unlucky Morai. All the knights sitting around the meeting table looked intently.

Jentra, the Gilded Guardian, as some of her allies called her, studied the image of the target. Ventorin wasn't short, but he certainly wasn't tall. He wore a silken business suit and had long light grey hair, tied in a neat pony tail. Upon his nose he wore a pair of glasses. Even in the images, it looked like he was an easy target. He held his head up in such a way that a well placed Blaster shot could go right through...

...Snap out of it Jentra, this isn't your way of thinking!

Jentra pushed the worrying things she had just thought out of her mind and focused back on task. He didn't look like too much of a threat. No chance of him fighting back as long as the operation goes well. No chance of anything exciting happening it seemed.

"The attack will be in phases. The instructions are clear, so there should be no problem." The slide had changed to a layout of the factory. Barrus began pointing. "First of all the Recon Knights will scout out the area and write down any guard locations for later usage. They'll hand the Strikers what they've recorded and the Strikers will have the simple job of swiftly executing the guards as to not cause commotion, but allow us entry."
Barrus pressed a button in his hand and the slide changed to some very complicated plans.
"The Tech Knights will be guarded as they enter the complex. Their job will be to disable the defensive systems. This will, obviously, include Security and Turrets.
From there in, all that's needed is to get to the point marked on this map." The screen Barrus had been using swapped to a slide showing a layout of the complex, with a red X on top of one of the towers.
"You'll be in direct sight of the target. Simply get all of your Gunners to focus on Ventorin. Then count down and fire on 3...
2...
1..."
*Bang*
Barrus fired a blank from his unloaded Valiance and smiled.
"Got it?"

The Golden Wolves murmured in acknowledgment. Barrus added one final thing.
"Of course, as there are new recruits and also due to the Order's policy we must have some of you accompany the squad. Just a Striker, Recon Knight and Guardian." The board changed to one final image.

Striker Tarken, Recon Knight Mora and Guardian Jentra.

"It'll be more fun than what I was going to do, anyway." Jentra thought to herself.

Alfreton's thread is now here!
We decided to use two different threads as our styles and the stories will differ enough that we think it's warranted.

I write by smashing myself against the keyboard

Thanks, I'm not too good at these so I'm glad it came out well.

2: The facility

Jentra followed the squad as they approached the munitions factory. It loomed ahead, the great shadow it cast shielding a huge chunk of the city district from any sunlight. Barbed wire surrounded the it, with a single gate as the only entrance in sight. The Squad Leader signaled to a collection of Recon Knights, who disappeared within seconds. A quiet few minutes passed, and then the Strikers suddenly perked up. They'd obviously received the go-ahead from Recon. They dashed forward, quickly and gracefully with little sound and soon, just like Recon, they were gone.

The Squad Leader received an all-clear and motioned the squad to move into the facility. They met up with the Recon Knights and Strikers at the front of the facility, next to an unlucky Morai guard's body. The Tech Knights were guarded as they went up in the facility, until they reached a complicated looking control panel. After a few minutes of hard work from the Tech Knights there was an audible noise. Panels on the walls of the control panel's room that had once shown surveillance footage shut off. With the factory's defenses disabled, the squad proceeded to work their way up the building to the spot they were told to go to. At one room towards the top of the facility, there was a forked path that split off into about 5 separate corridors. Jentra was assigned to head off with a Gunner who held in his hands a Magma Driver and the new recruit - a young 3* Knight referred to as "Karun" who had chosen a Rigadoon as his weapon of choice.

The three headed off down the pathway, and eventually came to a room at the very top of the complex. A fancy bedroom, with a balcony overlooking the complex. And there stood a Morai. There stood a medium height Morai, with light grey hair tied back in a ponytail, a suit and glasses. He was just... Staring.

Had he not heard them enter? Jentra knew she hadn't been too noisy, but she was almost sure they had made enough sound to alert Ventorin.
She approached the pompous Morai. He was slightly slumped over.
Jentra, feeling fairly wary, held her Iron Slug tight, ready to shoot him if he dared fight back.
She walked closer to him, and put her hands on his shoulders.
They weren't warm.
She turned his body around with both hands.
Glazed eyes.
A trickle of crimson.
A small bullethole through his skull. Definitely not of the Order's design.

Jentra heard a noise from behind her.
They'd been ambushed.
