Straight to the point - what do you regret doing/not doing the most in your Spiral career? Be it crafting the right or wrong item, choosing a guild, etc.

I think my best choice was crafting an Acheron. You see, back in the days of Mist Energy I ran an alt which I crafted with daily for UVs and I actually got several good items. Among those were one of the best items I've ever gotten, a Brandish with ASI High + CTR Med. Which one to choose took a lot of thinking as I also considered Elemental Brandishes. Nevertheless I found that Acheron would be the best fit for my arsenal. Some months later, Appocrea is released and suddenly I have one of the most overpowered weapons in terms of both weapon stats and UVs ever.

As for something I really regret, it's not joining the guild The Fallen when I had the opportunity to do so. There were a lot of really awesome people in that guild, some which had been in the same guild as I before, and a lot which I would get to know later on. While I'm happy with the guilds I've been in, I still feel like I missed out on one amazing opportunity and tons of fun by staying with a guild that was quite inactive.

Done right

- got a pair of golden dragon wing for 300K off some noob, pure scam at its finest, I felt bad, but hey, he said he wanted 300K quick crowns and I gave it to him. So it is his choice.

-Ditching cutter, auto gun and jelly mail early into the game, this is partially luck but thankfully I avoided some very useless gears at the start of the game when I was planning on sticking with them (cutter was good in T1, but T2 and T3? Wohohoho!!!) got my self the night blade and off I go!

-Got the Hoptimer monster pocket for 250000 (put it on the Valkyrie mail seems fitting), the thing looks pimp and I will be very sad if the next promotion resells them at a cheaper price...

Done wrong

-Getting CIV, now it is useless thanks to my Glacius and grand flourish taking off the roles that it was supposed to fulfill along side Acheron, even levi blade would have been a better idea, but I dig the design ;_;

-Getting Valiance sometime before the radiant drop, biggest regret considering that some of those rad could have been saved to heat up gears now that the drought is here. Just as useless before except for the looks.

-Getting Valkyrie set as my first 5* set, its prettiness does not compensate its uselessness in fire theme level, especially in prestige and rank mission where I got BBQ'd.

Best choice: Crafting an Iron

Best choice: Crafting an Iron Slug before the Gunner Update. They laughed at me for it... Who's laughing now? Huh!? You feelin' lucky, PUNK!? *instagibs everything with the charge*

Worst choice: Making a Blackhawk with the intention of making an Obsidian Carbine. Because I eventually learned how to use Alchemers halfway decently. Seriously, I thought it would make a great Gremlin gun because of the fast projectiles and poison, but it got rendered moot when I started instagibbing Thwackers with Umbra Driver and Iron Slug charges charge anyway, while the Blackhawk tired my fingers out. Also, I used the tokens I earned for that poison tentacle sword, and I regretted nothing from it.

RPG Knight has it right Best:

RPG Knight has it right

Best: Playing in 2011, and going down to a d28 shock arena. Got destroyed, but the people back then were much more fun to play with than most today, since there was no LD to any great extent.

Worst: Playing the game after 2011. If I hadn't, I probably wouldn't have met most of the garbage that LD consists of today.

Worst Things:

Starting and stopping and starting and stopping playing the game til I had about 6 accounts. (This is my 7th, currently, my only Vanguard account was Linux-Bomber).

Crafting my 5* Strike Neddle before having enough crystals to get it to heat level 10. Suddenly, its a downgrade.

Selling my Khrovod to get a 4* Shivermist. Sure, Shivermist is useful, but dang, Sudaruska is still my favorite playstyle, only 2nd to pure damage bombing.

Best Things:

Joining a LD guild (Brick Squad). While I'm not very good at LD itself, its was still a very fun experience to actually go against teams and such. Plus, there was such a high demand for strict bombers it wasn't hard to get in.

Buying Operation Crimson Hammer. Its honestly gotten to the point where I'm not sure I even want to attempt pure bombing ever again without O:CH. DR is just SOOO good. Being able to be offensive AND party friendly at the same time is great.

Best Things:
Saving my 1st 4* equipment (Silent Nightblade) for Aprocrea... I kind of forgot I had a Silent Nightblade... rarely used it.
Getting a Shocking Bombhead when choosing which Charged Quicksilver armor to upgrade (ofc I went for Mercurial Mail first).

Worst Things:
Selling a Shock max Defender for 15kcr
Loaning 50kcr to some random person who seemed decent enough, but never logged back on. ¬_¬ seriously?

Best & Worst thing:
Helping a friend unbind a Perfect Mask of Seerus because they kept getting sidetracked by costume stuff. They said they'd pay for crafting and unbinding costs, and I believed. I'm fairly certain that the person has forgotten about it because after that last mail I got about promising to pay back (enclosed with 10kcr), there was no further action. We still greet each other when we log on :| Or at least I do. Perhaps he forgot who I was and just replies back just cuz.

Best choices: 1. Logging on

Best choices:

1. Logging on to the game while OCH was at a massive discount. I had exactly the amount of kreds needed to get it.

And yes, I play on Kongregate.

With OCH, I could finally spam my Stable Rocket Hammer as I wished in T2 lockdown. Unfortunately, T2 no longer exists so it's basically insignificant now, and I don't have friends to play T3 OCH with. I keep dying and dying and dying, so I've basically given up on my quest to spam Warmaster Rocket Hammer in T3 lockdown.

2. Crafting a shockburst brandish.

I would go into IMF and spam shockburst charges at the quicksilvers, which would kill my teammates. Back in the day where you could revive a teammate with half of your health, I quickly heated up my items. My kilowatt pulsar didn't take long to heat up at all. My sanity was preserved because of this epic weapon.

Worst choices:

1. Name almost anything I crafted in the past:

Winmillion, Rigadoon, Flamberge, Drake Scale Mail, Angelic Helm, Fiery Pepperbox, Obsidian Edge, Solid Cobalt gear. The list goes on, but I don't have the willpower to continue along that dreadful path.

2. Not heating up my items before the forge update.

Despite the epic heating sessions with my shockburst brandish, I mostly heated up stuff that I would use in T2 lockdown, rather than leveling up the stuff that would actually allow me to progress in the game. Thus, I've hit a massive grind wall with shining fire crystals and have basically quit the game because of it.

3. Crafting a mother****ing ****sucking dip**** Obsidian Edge.

I talked about this in #1, but this deserved a special mention. Why the **** didn't I craft a ****ing Acheron instead of a ****ing Obsidian Edge?!

It was such a stupid decision, because the Obsidian Edge sucks hard compared to all other brandishes as far as I can tell. Any elemental brandish would help me on FSC runs with the few friends I have, and the Acheron can actually do damage compared to the Obsidian Edge.

**** the ****ing Obsidian Edge and its shiny ****ing Apocrean ****.

Those are the best and worst things I've done in SK.

Holy hell damn, now I regret THAT too. I vendored the damn thing... Speaking of things I regret, that's another thing on my Worst Choice list. Vendoring ANYTHING. AT ALL. RIP Gigawatt Pulsar, 4* Snarbostabber, Volcanic Plate Helm, Heater Shield, and a million other things. All of which I regret.

Worst
Trading away ~10 or so Dragon Wings for UV'd items I had no idea the value of

"Checking out" the new missions with my original Rescue Camp knight "Zeroxyl", forgetting the all important rule to test with an alternate account for whether or not a particular action inhibits my ability to return to the Rescue Camp

Not gaining Tier 3 access on either of my Rescue Camp knights before the ability to unlock the gates at the Subtowns was removed

Not getting Zeroxyl to five star before the equipment restrictions came in

Best
Buying 2000 Storm Callers. Best long term, sustainable profit margin ever.

Deciding to "go hipster" and crafting one of every hipster item that exists. I didn't get all the way, but in the gun department I got a VPB, SN, Neut and a Iron Slug crafted and fully heated before both forge and gunner update, and now I can officially say "I had it before it was cool" :P

Playing this game. Has been absolutely awesome.

Notes:
Never vendored any high-level equipment (apart from FSC rewards), and I don't ever plan to. Equipment took upwards of 120k to get to 5 star. (including costs of recipes and energy for crafts and such) Like hell I would ever throw anything like that away for a "quick 30k". Anyway, everything eventually gets buffed in the end, and I have the patience to wait for that.

@Tehepicwin-Forum
Dunno what you're raging about. Obsidian Edge does roughly the same damage against neutral enemies as the Leviathan Blade, the EXACT SAME damage as Voltedge, Combuster AND Glacius, and more damage per combo than the Sudaruska on neutral enemies.
I'm guessing that this is not a case of "I crafted a weapon and found out it was crap", (because it most certainly is NOT: It's a brandish line weapon, it's one of the most braindead easiest and safest to use and highest damage weapons in the game) but rather it's a case of "I regret not going straight for the Chaos + Blitz + Acheron clone setup from the get-go"

@tehepicwin
._. someone is salty that their Obsidian Edge, which does the same damage as Voltedge, Combuster, or Glacius (except deals shadow), has more utility than an Acheron. I'll bring my Obsidian Edge to fiends and undead solely to poison enemies with the charge (then switch to another weapon to deal better damage).
I like mine about as much as I like my Voltedge, but it was kind of a pain to grind for the mats to make the Obsidian Edge.
Obsidian Edge only deals like 30-70 less damage in S6 for all of the attacks against gremlins/jellies/construct/beast. If you really wanted damage, you shouldn't have upgraded to either Acheron nor Obsidian Edge because Silent Nightblade will outdamage Acheron until your Acheron is at least level 7 (and you apparently don't have enough crystals).

You should be able to beat T3 OCH on normal with an Obsidian Edge...? Not sure why you're raging about that. Granted, it might take a while if you don't have Obsidian Edge at level 10 (I assume this because you hate this weapon and you have a crystal shortage). But it's fairly doable...

Shining crystals aren't a shortage problem, it's usually elite orbs or radiants that are the issue. It's fairly easy to farm shinings and glowings provided you have access to missions in the correct strata. I think you just don't like the game anymore. You should probably look for another game to play, or leave the game for a while until you feel like grinding during an event or something.

EDIT:
@Hexzyle
oooo I see someone else is affected by the darn rank locks... I have a Knight-ranked character that I was grinding up prestige, but nope. I'm mainly mad that my level 74 Seraphynx is just stuck there... cuz level 75 is 5* and I can't get that.

Well I'm mainly mad that my 5 star RC character is not cleared for tier 2, so I can't walk through Moorcroft (having to join people at depth 9 instead of 8, plus I can never get Kat hats without buying someone else's unbound ones)
And my 4 star RC character (Zeroxyl) is cleared for tier 2, but is restricted to 4 star items QQ

Silent Nightblade will outdamage Acheron until your Acheron is at least level 7 (and you apparently don't have enough crystals).

Actually I suspect the level in question is a bit lower given the huge damage boost Acheron was given. If we're talking Obsidian Edge, I think level 7 is more spot on.

Oh joy, where to start

I've invested a lot of time into this game, thus I've had a lot of time to do things, good and bad. Let's get the bad out of the way first I guess.

Worst:
Selling all the lower-star gear you get from missions immediately after getting them. At the time I had no interest in having lower-starred gear. RIP those high UV 1* weapons. I'd find myself at a pretty large disadvantage in tier 1 lockdown if I ever tried it, at least gear-wise.

One of my ongoing bad decisions is the one to not create a chaos set. This is primarily because I look at all gear's defenses and I already have enough elemental defense. Only thing that would draw me in would be that CTR and I don't really care all that much about it.
This is coming from someone who brings a black kat cowl and a snarbolax set to Heart of Ice not because of the damage bonuses, but the freeze resistance. Yes I also made Valkyrie armor first and somehow survived FSC my first run through in a full party where they decided to test if you'd get an ensured item drop for not opening the health boxes.

Best:
Selling my first promo item ever. First promo I bought into was the Gourmet promo. First box I unlocked had a frozen great cleaver in it. Sold it to some guy who reaaally wanted it. Traded me a full white chef costume + a sprinkle aura, the costume bits I sold for a little over 300k or so. My first taste of wealth.
Then I unboxed another one at the end of the event and someone started giving free regular ones away. Still have both of those to this day.

Posting to the forums. I've had quite a few players recognize me in-game because of the shenanigans I comment on over here, one of which was a drunken Njthug who fought with another guild member over which was cooler then invited me into EoS. Somehow I'm still there.

Teh looks into the sky...

@Qwez

You know...maybe you're right. I AM a bit tired of the game, but you're also right about the OE having utility use.

I also have about 14k crowns left over. I could buy a few Sparks of Life. With the help of epic OE charge spam, I could actually do OCH.

But that is an adventure for another day. Probably tomorrow.

Back on topic, I guess another one of the worst decisions I made was actually thinking I would never get bored of the game.
-----------------------------------------
Teh walks forward, with an Obsidian Edge and a Heavy Plate shield in his hands. Teh, the Vog Cub knight that is now by the elevator, has a look of wariness and fear.

Right before he steps onto the platform, Teh stops. Is it his rank of Defender Elite that is scaring him? Or is it just that he doesn't want to go? We will never know.

Either way, Teh sits down beside the elevator. OCH is an adventure for another day.

For now, he waits.
-----------------------------------------
And that is a fun narrative account of what is going on in my SK life right now.

Do you want to continually pay 20k over and over again so you can roll the right UV you want on your 1 Star equipment?
Or would you just rather pay 100E (8k) to unbind from another account you spent 30 minutes going through the starting missions with?

Best:
Retrieving health for monster families, figuring out the mechanics by statuses, calculating defences, getting to the bottom of damage bonuses, all that other science stuff. I had loads of fun, and like to think it helped people.

Best decisions:

-Joining CV, I made so many friends here and I've kept lots of them even though I don't play much anymore
-Starting SK in the first place. This game has shaped my online experience more than probably everything else combined.

Worst:
