Too bad the odds are more than one person wants a specific item and this will piss off a bunch of people. I was hoping OOO would flash sale in supply depo *in parallel* to the auction house flash sale. Also it's still like 2 people tops selling ce on the ce sale offers (Read: monopoly). Every single pay to winner is clicking buy crowns now.

By doing the flash sale in ah will mean that ce price will drop down since players who only use ce will be forced to bid with cr `...
and those players who complained about ce price increase will be able to enjoy buying ce at a lower price than 9k...

But that wont change the fact that only rich players will be able to fight and get the items sold in the featured section :3

Three Rings is most likely doing this due to discussion on these boards about how Energy Prices are going up. This sucks in a standard sense but in another it makes sense... kinda.

The only way to get large amounts of Crowns within a short time span is to sell Energy via the market. This will in theory inject a large amount of Energy into the economy.

There's only ONE bad thing now. There's certain high-end players whom I won't name but have been running the market for quite some time will have plenty of money saved up to buy these things. All this does is give those people who are already rich an even higher advantage because they already have the currency to already buy whatever they want or inflate the prices so they pay more for it.

They should just shove it on the Supply Depot for Crowns instead of Energy.

You see... the problem with that is it's like 2 people who do 95% of the energy market looping. So that doesn't work as well as you'd think with price drop. You'll just see a margin of 1000cr or something between buy/sell (oh hey, look what's on the bottom of the offer stacks http://i.imgur.com/MiqqOfY.png - a near 1000cr margin).

They really should have just put this stuff on the supply depot rather than AH. Probably get more of an impact, and satisfy more players, while generating profits, everyone wins.

It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to blow energy for crowns on stuff you have bid for, since if you don't get the item you've lost value in your holdings. On the other hand if all this stuff in the AH had "Buy Now" with stocks, at least more people could get items.

@Numot and other naysayers

Players heavily desired items in the auction house in a "flash" sale format. I think it's absolutely great that OOO did this - especially if it truly came about as a result of player desire (vs. on staff whim). I wouldn't worry too much, SD sales will probably happen again. Everyone can't be happy all the time, but a lot of people are happy this time. OOO can run a Supply Depot or Auction House sale depending on what the energy market needs to stay reasonable for the average player. Can't be too cheap, can't be too expensive. It's really great for the item economy too - spend a lot of crowns on one available item of a type (AH sale unless they put a pile into Buy Now), or spend a lot of energy on several (or you know, one, if you only want one) available items of a type (SD sale) and merchant that stuff while riding the hype...or wait. Depends on the item. Both types of sales offer opportunities to see and obtain rares, which is something I really appreciate because a lot of the wonderful art in this game gets missed due to being available for only a few weeks, and randomly available at that.

I would love if the devious horns I've been looking for for a YEAR now would be featured in the AH as a QUANTITY amount, not just bids, because as stated in this thread the rich players are going to outbid most players, leaving most of us who wanted specific items- itemless :( Also, reasonable prices please :D

Also @OP:
Gold Leafy Aura and Checkered Bombhead Mask, and Volcanic Halo were on the AH at 9am today when I logged on. All with Long Timing. Figure they may have been listed earlier. Wish we could get prices that these sell at though :(
