I'm sure if that's the right title, but this is geared at the AH sales. I'll just be using the mixmaster for the example because HELLO, NEW CONTENT THAT AIN'T IN THE GAME BY NORMAL MEANS.
We have a situation:
1 mixmaster for sale - bids probably cap off at 1.5 - 2Mil crowns
~or~
100 mixmasters for sale, buy out price 1.5 mil (like the scissorblades, premium, but not unattainable)
You don't have to do the math, but setting the new content so it could take more crowns out of the system instead of aiming at just a few whale P2W players would not only get more people playing the game again, but it would enhance and lower the CE market all at the same time. People crash the CE market as they try to get enough crowns to buy Mixmasters and merchants with moolah buy more than one to sell later. When CE hits rock bottom, people buy trinkets and gear and whatever.
Now I know what your gonna say.
Paintool, when CE hits 6K per share, why buy energy from OOO at all? OOO ain't gonna make any money! We have to feed the whales by consumer whoring just 1 massive person at a time, and keep the other addicts lead on by the carrot on the edge of the string!
More people playing is more important than keeping 1 P2W player happy. Unless you like playing the game I just mentioned above, then you'll see and understand why not only the mixmaster, but other premium accesories and items need to have crown buy out prices, not just Bids.
DEBATE WITH ME NOW
More people are buying more ce in hopes of winning the auctions in order to bid on the auctions; doesn't matter how many items they pump out, multiple people purchased energy in hopes of being the lucky winner. [Incoming assumptions ->] This probably includes you, and you probably lost which is why you made this thread.
The auctions were a brilliant tactic. With one event, OOO has dropped off energy prices, raised money, increased server activity (players gotta watch those auctions), introduced new rare items and given hundreds of players the chance to inspect them -- all without crashing the merchant market through the supply depot. The only people I've seen complain are those that are losing the auctions.
