So I recently got a Deadly Charcoaler(the reskin of Deadly Crystal) and found that it has inviciticks. I find this rather frustrating, as the only viable way to use this is to have a high ctr value, and spam as many as possible. This of course gets negated by that accursed 'Tink Tink Tink' sound and the purple flash associated with it, causing some enemies to hit me when they would normally get buffeted. (I was using this in hazardous heist, vs Shufflebots, Gun Puppy's and Lumbers, a lot of them were getting invinciticks when I used the bomb)

I suggest that you think about buffing all shard lines' damage stats, and removing the invinciticks (or at least make them happen less then they do), so as to make shard bombs more friendly to use.

I realised how short this suggestion/complaint is, but eh. I'm sure there is a lot more suggestions for shard bomb improvement, these are just my two issues with it.

algorithms are the solutions to any problem.

many, many, many players, including really skilled ones, have asked for a shard bomb buff. there have been contless arguments on how to buff them, and some counter arguments too. we pretty much agree that invincitrinks need to be revised if not removed. problem is, OOO knows that but still gives us more things with invincitrinks (barriers) even though it's not a great solution to the issue at hand.

OOO shud make BAB hit enemies 100 times per asploshun, first hit as normal, rest of the hits are invincitinks. Now, with BAB you kin get enemies angreh at you insteed of running after your teammateys that have more dps.

Yeah...

Basically what Thunder said. Invinvitinks on shard bombs are pretty much what kills it. Damage itself is fine though.

I don't see how it's a waste but meh.

As for not increasing damage for shard bombs and just removing the invinciticks, I'd certainly agree with them doing that, bombing with shard bomb does have a high hit rate in most situations as compared to other bombs. (the benefit being that an enemy can get blasted by more than one crystal chunk at a time)

On the mattor of bombs, is there any point in me getting mad bomber, or is it a watered down chaos?

Mad bomber is just a watered down chaos. It used to be that chaos just gave +1 for ctr and damage, but then Kat Hat came out and Chaos looked bad in comparison, so it got buffed.

Invincitinks are bad for your health. Sometimes, I would get tinks on greavers.

Nobody uses the shard bombs because you get (I think three?) hits before tinktink. Damage is too low, even considering it is AoE damage.
Same problem with the torto guns.

Removing invincitinks would be bad OP. So how about increasing from three to five?

Would it, though? Despite shards disappearing when the bomb is close enough to a wall, ensuring the damage can't be clumped too tightly? Sure, you could potentially get the whole lot under Vanaduke, but I really think if you managed to pull that off, you deserve that 1600 damage.

Regardless, a hit limit of 3 would be fine if it worked as described:
"With the exception of the initial explosion, only 3 shards may hit a single target from the same bomb. However, the same shard can hit multiple targets at once. This balances the shard bombs from clustering all of them on the same target at once, such as with large, boss monsters."

But the limit isn't for the same bomb. It's not even for the same weapon slot. And the initial explosion is included in the limit, as well.

In fact, the easiest way to keep invincitinks from being too counterproductive would be to remove all damage from the initial explosion altogether.

Tortofists get an impact hit and 4 damage ticks per shard, they are definitely strong enough with invincitinks intact with their current damage numbers, its really only the shard bombs that need fixing
