Since Herex is easy and the only real challenge comes from the waves of enemies he summons, why not do something to make him slightly harder by making it so if you're hit by one of his spinning sawblades you get inflicted with poison. This would promote either doing ranged combat or taking a bit more time to kill him.

I think i might be the only player when taking him on solo that finds him hard. Oh well, i will keep my unskilled opinions to myself hahaah.

I found the waves hard, but Herex is awfully easy. Most of the time I just stood around, waited a bit, turned around, let out an Acheron charge and hit him until the next wave of enemies came.

Or maybe just less chance to get flinched, since 100% flinch on a third weapon combo makes him a bit rubbish. Just run him up to a corner and wail on him.
It's not "chance". Flinch occurs due to a certain percentage of a mob's health being dealt as damage within a certain amount of time.
I agree with the saw blades, there's no point in having them without actually dealing damage, maybe have him pull out his sword and do one of those Thwacker spin attacks too if he's surrounded, that would help him from being cornered a bit
I'd like to see these additions, as well as a Teleport whenever he cloaks, that way knights can't just corner and gangbang him, he'll disappear on them completely and have to find him again.
Herex is a (past?) member of the Crimson Order, he shouldn't be trivial. He should be wrecking our parties.
Love the idea of Poison inflicting saw blades, Less chance of flinch, and a thwacker spin as well. But I think getting him to disappear and change locations after cloaking so he can't be cornered would be an ideal change.

Perfect idea, just make it a Wolver teleport but reskin the graphics for it
It seems like a random teleport would work better. I'd say also give him freeze, stun, and shock immunity... if not completely then at least to minor status. This way, you can't just place down a freeze mist bomb and reduce his threat level to 0.

Oh and by Wolver teleport I meant like copy paste the move itself and add a new way of deciding in the "teleport to _____", I think another thing everyone agrees on is that the "teleport directly behind player" mechanic is stupidly easy to counter, I probably should have made that clearer but it doesn't really matter
I like the immunity idea too, all these fixes would be rendered useless with someone who owns a shiv, immunity to (at least minor) any movement impairing status would definitely make him act more like a potential boss, just as seerus was with vial immunity
Freeze is the most important status for him to resist. Fire/poison are some that he should be vulnerable to. Shock and stun are also movement impairing, however are less needed to be immune to (minor).
And yeah, teleporting to perhaps a designated location would be okay. I'd say different corners of the room so that any mist bomb won't just instantly show us where he is.

I agree, but I really don't think this is enough. Flinch resistance too would help.
