Remove Weapon Prestige Missions

I am pretty sure that no one has ever completed a prestige mission where you have to deliver a weapon,
so basically on these days you have one mission less to do.
Giving up a 5* weapon for 300 prestige just doesn't make sense,
so replacing them with a different one or simply removing it and shortening the cycle won't hurt anyone.

1. Replace it with what?
2. People do actually turn in weapons for Arms Appropriation.
3. You're not obliged to do the mission if you don't want to

Ah i did not realise people

Ah i did not realise people actually did the quest, in that case it is qualified to stay.
3500 Energy for 300 prestige just seemed ridiculous to me but if people disagree i at least know now.
I intended replacing them with the prestige missions logically following, thereby reducing the pool.

I find the mission awful. Yeah people complete it, but gosh what a waste. I agree that it is totally ridiculous. I think it could easily be replaced by "give us your weapon and we will give it back to you with a stupid uv just be careful this resets the heat as well as any UVs that were on it previously," like some rank missions ("Time to Get Crafty" for example) essentially do. You might get extra lucky with a good UV, and lore-wise, you're still helping Spiral HQ with improving the general fighting force. The UV would be like a random punch roll - sacrifice heat if you want, or hold on to an item and hope Spiral decides to "research" it and hope for the best. I figure this isn't too op or economically damaging considering UV tickets and forge boxes, and the odds you'd even be using the item Spiral asks for in the first place. Also UV RNG is awful. I suppose it could be worth fewer prestige points. Anyway...

This possible replacement rewards the player for having a diverse arsenal and patience, instead of being...that.

yep

I agree with dracora-speaking and ariso. But mostly with dracora because we would actually be REWARDED for having a diveresed weapon inventory rather then getting PUNISHED because we do not have enough cash to fork up. Oh well, doubt OOO will see the light :P.

I think what they could do is take the weapon for a day, and you get a really good UV at the cost of 1-2 heat levels.

That'd actually be kind of interesting. Basically a free UV roll if you happen to have the correct weapon on the correct day.

Plus, think of all the radiants down the drain if you apply it to a level 10 5* weapon. Considering that, it could even still award prestige.

yep..

I totall;y agree with you Sir-Pandabear. As long as the UV is a low one and the weapon's heat is halfed or completely removed, then i don;t see OOO losing any profit of this.

A variation:

How about instead of one 5* weapon, it asks for four specific 2* weapons/armors/shields (ie: "give us four Jelly Shields" or "four Plate Helms")?
It would be affordable.
It's scalable; Recruits submit one 2* gear, Vanguards submit four (or one 3* base gear like Swiftstrike/Chroma/Magnus/Tundrus).
It would get people crafting, which would put more UV'd gear into the game as a byproduct.
It would force people to craft things other than Blasters/Autoguns/Brandishes/Wolvers/Magic. People who craft these items and put them on the AH suddenly have a market--the AH would expand.
It would get players to go to the HoH for more recipes.
It would get more CE sales for OOO.

I like your suggestion to put cheaper gear like 2/3* for the arms appropriation. Pretty sure that will mostly make another part of the community rage about how prestige is useless and they want prestige to be more than just prestigious (because logic) if they're gonna spend money on crafting some 2* items for it. Right now it is only for the hardcore prestige farmers and I doubt even they do it every time, but at least it is a way to get ahead of more casual prestige farmers who only do the missions and materials/minerals/supply package prestige missions.

I think it would be nice if HQ let the knights know what weapons theyre running short on, so the knights get 4 days to craft the needed weapons, instead of either having to no-life craft it on that day, or simply having a stock of all weapons just for the quest.

seems ridiculous to me too. Spending at most 650 energy and having a huge stock of eternals sounds like a better deal.
