Create a full map view, and radar trinket item that has cumulative benefits based on how many group members are using it.

add the option for a key that would overlay a semi transparent map of the current level, showing all reveled sections of the map.

If you have the "radar module" you are able to see an outline of the entire level, with a fog or color indicator of where has been discovered thus far. In addition you can see:
(if 2 people have the module) party buttons, start and end gate, as well as locks and keys
(if 3 people have the module) near by hidden buttons (under bushes and boxes) opened and closed gates, switches, etc
(if all 4 people have the module)show all spawned monsters, especially those darn phantoms that like to follow you the whole level.

So what do you think?

Was just saying the other day

Was just saying the other day how nice it would be to look at the full view map, I don't even need special trinkets, let me just look at the whole map that I've traveled.

I's memorized every level

I's memorized every level through T2 by couple weeks from release, just through regular play. Really, really simple layouts. I honestly don't know why you'd need a map, but I guess it can't hurt.

I don't even want a map

I don't even want a map that's automatically revealed (takes some of the exploration fun away from new mixups of zones), I just want to be able to tell if we're near the corners or edges of the whole thing so I can better choose the "optional" paths instead of having to double back all the time :P

@OnmyojiOmn

Except your memorising is useless for clockwork tunnels.

I like the trinket idea, but

I like the trinket idea, but yeah, I'd be just as happy being able to look at the map with the 'M' key
