Awhile ago I was doing a T1 danger room, and my blaster did the following damage against the following enemies.
13 against Lichen
12 against Blast Cube
11 against Jelly Cube
So should I put something on the wiki? RESPAUHND NAOW
So, Lichen resistance<Blast Cube resistance<Jelly Cube Resistance?
Yeah, I've gotten strange results in danger rooms too. Like in a Strata 4 danger room I'll have Tier 3 Gremlins/Wolvers but my normal damage weapon still hurts the wolvers more than the gremlins. If they were really both from T3 and had the same T3 defenses then they should receive the same damage. It only differs by about 10%, but still... that is unexpected. The damage is much less than creatures outside the danger room receive from the same weapon, as expected.
Next time I see it I'll post some numbers here, maybe there will be a trend.
I'm fairly certain that defense varies between varieties.
@Saphykun The defenses vary only in a couple creatures such as in weak menders and strong rock jellies. Using the same normal-only weapon should result in almost everything at a depth receiving the same amount of damage. Which is why the danger rooms are so odd.
I hit a Strata 1 Danger Room (depth 2 specifically). Using only the first swing of my Acheron with High Slime I got these numbers off the jellies that spawned there:
40 - a few of the jellies
45 - most of the normal jellies, blast jellies, quicksilvers
49 - lichen and a few jellies
All the creatures looked like T1 jellies, convenient that it is now so easy to distinguish the difference. So they definitely were not spawns from two strata down. My sword did 57 damage on the first swing to all jellies/lichen/quicksilvers outside of the danger room at that depth.
So yeah, don't know what to make of that.
No... I meant that defense values between a Rock Jelly and a Jelly Cube varies, despite both are from the same family. I know there are differences between Menders and Rock Jellies. But you said that you got 57 damage across all jellies, regardless of type, so I might be wrong. Except... there are some damage scalings according to Tiers, so I don't think using 5* weapons in Tier 1 will be accurate in displaying damages. I'll check with my Faust/DVS in Tier 3. I'll also record numbers to see if this is true.
Also... since the numbers were obtained in the Danger Room... I won't be surprised if the defense discrepancies are there just to make the rooms harder. :)
EDIT:
Using a DVS (with Construct bonus) and Firo Driver, I got these numbers from Constructs in Depth 19:
DVS: 106dmg across all Constructs
Firo: 98dmg across all Constructs
My theory that defense values vary between jelly types are wrong. Buuuuut I still think that the numbers vary in Danger Rooms just to make it harder 8(
Danger rooms are not a very good indicator of enemy resistances as they can have monsters from other stratum and tiers.
