Because I'm pretty sure at this point I could make a novel of dark rituals.
So... How many pages are in a book?
To be honest I'm pretty sure the dark ritual is just on one page because the conjuring kat says like, maybe 3 words. No reason that can't just be on a single page now.
Nah, you have all the pages for the book, but you don't have the cover.
Konjuring Kat just reads the cover of the book.
So that's why you're so persistent on making books have a token counterpart
I like the books the way they are. It adds a real sense of value to the armor and such. If they made the book easier to access, it won't feels so special finding one. It's like making the Darkfang Shield craftable or something, it feels like it removes the magic of searching and finding it.
^ Get-a-load of this guy cam.
Some people haven't found books since the first black kat event. If you're defending this 1% elitism based on the fact you already found one, you're only perpetuating this self fulfilling prophecy.
The fact of the matter is HEY It's a new boss that people have to pay 5KE to fight to craft pseudo rare armors.
Why can't it be more like the Tortodrone event, where hey at least we can actually search and count on getting something instead of getting lucky to the umph degree.
P.S. Nobody has found a darkfang shield in years, so put in your dapper combo and smoke it.
I've never found a book. No need to be harsh.
"To be honest I'm pretty sure the dark ritual is just on one page because the conjuring kat says like, maybe 3 words. No reason that can't just be on a single page now."
Actually, it would make sense that the book of dark rituals is a non-digested book (one still with its magical essence), while the pages are partially digested books (magically inert).
"The residents of Moorcroft Manor would like you to retrieve the Ancient Pages of the magical grimoires that quite likely reside in the stomachs of Black Kats. We'll leave you to figure out just how to recover them..."
So that's why you're so persistent on making books have a token counterpart
That's one reason. Other reason is because making them have a token counterpart would make the event more, you know, fun. Grinding for a book (which is what people do. If you're grinding for pages and pages alone then it's likely you just bought a BKC or don't care for the event altogether) isn't grinding when it's completely up to RNG. I could spend 48 hours farming for black kats and find none, and someone else could kill one black kat and get a book.
Now see, it's great to have books be here as the only way to get BKCs. I'm fine with that. What I'm not fine with is that the event now revolves around finding the book opposed to just the pages. The book was more or less an "easter egg" before. Now it's the main event. Advertising half the event as "you'll find one!" and then never finding one isn't a great strategy.
If we could find a fang of vog in item boxes, it wouldn't make the fang of vog any more or less valuable, especially since we can do a certain thing to ensure we get the fang of vog if ever we want one. Should be a similar thing here as well... At the very least give us the ability to bring more whiskers into the market without bringing several cowls in as well...
It looks like you could really use a scythe, sadly that's not a very knightly weapon.
So happy hunting.... heh heheheheh... AHAHAHAHAHA!
The whiskers for the other armors is just the stupid part. If BKR was an "easter egg" like the BKC that's be equally fine. The way I see it though, as you said, half the event is the book because margrel farming is required for MORE THAN HALF the gear in the event.
This coming from a guy who found a book from his 6-7th black kat, so I'm not like jaded or something, I just find it ill-conceived is all (why get any of the other armors when they require whiskers?)
That moment when you reach over 1k tokens but no book has been found while you invite someone for their first run and they find 1 and they don't invite you ....
