Would be nice to see knight like this:

Yeah... so cooooooool
In this game we have guns that have shorter ranges than all ranged enemy attacks. If we could shoot outside an enemy's range then no one would ever use any other gun.
If its from another game then it is copyright, if not, its okay to add it
It's a real, anti tank, yet outdated military weapon. It's not in use anymore due to bulkiness and weight.
And I quote-
"The Boys Anti-Tank Rifle' was, as the name suggests, a British anti-tank rifle, named for Captain H.C.Boys (head of the design team developing the rifle), who died a few days prior to the rifle's approval for service in November 1937. Commonly refered to simply as the "Boys Rifle" the rifle was originally named the "Stanchion" until the death of Boys, as a mark of respect."
It is not from some video game, it's the real thing.
Ok then, if its a real thing then it probably wont be copyright infringement, so it seems oo for a developer to add it,
Spiral Knights is not a modern military shooter. All guns we have right now are operated with one hand to accommodate the ability to shield. The only time we put a second hand on the gun is to reload (and only on certain guns).
Game mechanic-wise, what role would this fulfill? A heavy piercing gun? We already have that in the callahan. Same with normal and shadow damage.
My only thoughts are that it would be a single shot heavy gun. Perhaps with the range of one tile further than a catalyzer. It would fire a very fast projectile and deal piercing damage, but split at 3* and have an elemental counterpart. The bullet would be small (antigua size) but have a large explosion on hit (valiance charge attack).
The charge attack itself would be a shot that pierces through enemies like a callahan (without knockback), moves slower, but leaves a trail of status behind it. The piercing variant would deal either stun or shock, and the elemental variant would deal either poison or fire. Status is only inflicted by the trail of status (leaving a trail similar to drakon's firestorm). The non-charge attack hits would deal slightly more damage than the charge attack and fire bullets faster, and the charge attack would take an extra half a second to reload plus immobilizes your knight. The standard reload would not keep you stuck in one place.
This fulfills a sort of "stand way back here and snipe enemies" role that we don't have. I don't necessarily think we need a gun that does this, but if we were to have one this is how I imagine it.
That's my thought on what this sort of gun could be. It's better to design a gun than just point to what you want modeled, because if you only suggest a model we would get a reskinned callahan at 1% in a prize box that costs $5. That plus spiral knights has a much happier theme than our own world, and something such as the anti-tank rifle would be completely out of place, however it could inspire some weapons, much like how a light machine gun inspired the grim repeater's design.
I agree, i always bring a shield, and i would never use a gun that cant be used with a shield, DO NOT ADD THIS WEAPON DEVS
I wasn't saying it couldn't be used with a shield, I was just saying a weapon modeled after the weapon posted in the original post would likely require two hands, thus it wouldn't really be suitable to just model it and plop it in the game. If it's taken as inspiration for a cuter, smaller and more condense model, then sure, use inspiration.
Our "gun" selections is based on "handguns", not "assault rifles". Try to keep all gun appearances in one hand unless we get some feature where we use two hands to hold a weapon.
Won't that be copyright?
