Sorry if I'm being very stupid, but is it possible to get like 4 weapon slots for an infinite amount of time?
I saw a 2013 post saying you have to buy it for energy for like 30 days?

Start-End gave you your answer. Now you might be inclined to comment about whether Three Rings should change this policy. In fact, there is a thread on the first page of General Discussion about that very issue (and there have been many threads in the past):
