Freeze is a very unique status, but it's flawed. When players use it, freeze isn't that useful; but when freeze is used on the player, it can have various consequences. So, here are my ideas about how to improve it and make it butter!
First, have freeze be broken only when enough damage is dealt to the ice, whether it's from the victim's enemies, allies, or the victim itself. Second, increase the victim's defense whist frozen; with a percentage of the total damage taken being inflicted again once the status has ceased, unless broken early, or cleansed with a remedy capsule. Third, give the victim immunity to freeze while it's still frozen, preventing some freeze-locking
This does some things:
1. It makes freeze last longer
2. It makes freeze more useful to parties
3. It prevents unfair deaths *cough*silversap*cough*(I actually don't have too much of a problem with that monster)
So, what do you think about this? How would my idea be better? Constructive criticism is welcome!

EDIT: Reworded the breaking conditions to make it clear that enough damage to the ice would make it break.
EDIT 2: Changed immunity suggestion to "during the status", not "both during and after the status".
This would be a considerable improvement over the current Freeze status, as there seems to be little point for users to use other weapons in their arsenal along with Freeze-type weapons against their enemies if the intended status effect is immediately dispelled when a player attempts to "finish off" a frozen enemy. Consequently, it should be somewhat (but not entirely) easier for solo players to break out of the "Freeze" status (yeah, I'm thinking about those bloody Silversaps, too......), because not everyone can find a Remedy Capsule when they need it, nor can other players in a party always reach their allies to break them out of their "Frozen" status in time.
The only real bit of criticism I can think of that would come from having this status effect improved is from those few (hundreds of) users who utilize the aforementioned "freeze-lock" against opponents such as Lord Vanaduke, where keeping him frozen in place in-between mask phases is considered a "strategy" of sorts.
