Rocket Puppy missiles bouncing off walls...remove it?

Whenever I see a homing missile hit a wall and proceed to hover in place for a while, then fly off and continue hunting me down, my suspension of disbelief dies. Then my head hurts after I try to think of a reason why a missile explodes when it hits me, but not a wall.

Plus, it's extremely OP. A straight up damage increase would be better.

This...........sooooooooo much. If a missile fired from a Tier 3 Rocket Puppy hits a wall, then it should immediately detonate right then & there. Tier 3 Howlitzer "smart bombs" I can imagine as being legitimate, because those are at least still somewhat "alive", but not a guided missile with an impact-detonation warhead. >_>

HowStuffWorks

Homing rockets have been engineered to have a primed charge that activates when it is within 8.364 inches of its target, close enough so the blast hits, but far enough so that the blast radius is not too close to the target to have most of the explosions power absorbed by their armor. Additionally, these charges are also timed, in case that they do not reach their target. Their time to reach their target is approx. 6.124 seconds.

"HowStuffWorks" =/= Spiral Knights. If you're going to try to come up with a convincing argument as to why something clearly unrealistic should continue being unrealistic, you could at least try to be a little more clever about it.

Also, if you have no relevant content to reply to this or any of the other suggestion threads with, then kindly refrain from posting anything at all. Borderline trolling isn't exactly looked upon with a lot of humor here. >_>

I don't know what type of bee you've got up your bonnet, but I found Dreathuxy's comment interesting.
He posted an explanation as to why it occurs, and you just spat in his face with a "not relevant post, try being more clever" without even addressing the points he brought up. That's not good debate courtesy, that's what politicians do.

Also, explain what is "borderline trolling" about his informative and relevant comment?

*checks hats* Nope, no bees here.

Exactly what part of the aforementioned post explains why the homing rockets don't need to be changed? The subject of the topic is the erroneous in-game ability of the rockets to simply ignore deliberately colliding with a wall & then inexplicably move around said wall(s) to reach the player, not the in-game mechanic of how close to a player a rocket needs to be to detonate and/or how long it takes before they automatically self-destruct.

This. I had a huge post

This.

I had a huge post explaining why using epileptic trees (i.e. intricate explanations involving worldbuilding made by fans) to justify poorly-thought out game elements was poor form, and a site validation error deleted it.

Next time copy your post

Next time copy your post before sending. Then after side validation error you will paste it back and you will not lose your work.

He was correcting your (presumably, I'm not an explosives technician) incorrect statement that guided missiles have an "impact-detonation warhead". He wasn't necessarily taking a side of "For" or "Against", he just wanted the facts to be correct so that a more informed discussion could ensue.

But you attacked him like his post was cancer. I don't see how that's less deconstructive than his post itself. And you still haven't enlightened me on how he was "trolling".
