A way to prevent spawn camping in lockdown.

This is a way i have come up with to prevent spawn camping in lockdown. For those who dont know, spawn camping is when a knight or group of knights sit at the opposing teams base, and wait for them to come out, then kill them, they may also spam pulsar or mist bombs at the base as well. It is used to farm damage or rack up TONS of points during a match. A skill enough team can use this to become an instant win. This is a BIG problem because 1: I personally believe it is rude to do this, 2: It is extremely unfair to the team you are camping, 3: It can be extremely frustrating for the team you are camping, and 4: I think it is a cheap way to farm damage/krogmo coins and shouldn't be allowed. This can be fixed in numerous ways.

1: I think there should be a shock/stun/poison haze in front of a team spawn base which would only affect members of the opposing team (like reds in front of a white base, whites in front of a red base).

2: Maybe a movable roarmulus twins laser/shock themed rocket puppy that will detect members of the opposing team that are WAY to close to the base, and shoot at them. Would have a limited range as to not reach the point closest to the team's base, but would still have a good enough range to allow the team who is being camped some advantage..

3: This is the one i think should have been added initially. A "report team" option. When doing this option it would send a report for all members of the team you report, for the reason you put down (You are allowed to put an exception on specific players so they arent reported). I think if the reason is valid enough (such as something like spawn camping), that entire team will receive 0 points on the leaderboard, and will be banned from PvP for 31 days. If a knight is reported for the same issue multiple times, they can be temp or perma banned from Spiral Knights as well.

How about...

Not getting camped in the first place.

Going recon.

Using your own pulsars and mist bombs. My team was camped once, but a guy went guardian and made a safe zone for us right outside of spawn, and it helped us push out.

What Dreath said. You can shoot at the offenders from the safety of your spawn, while they cannot shoot back.

@Hex

Sure you can shoot, but can you get out?

For example: if you get trapped in spawn on the Gardens map all they need to do to hold you in is a bomber with a haze you aren't immune to, a Guardian or two to heal off gun damage you may do and the rest strikers to pick off that one guy who is immune to the haze.

There are so many things you're assuming here.

all they need to do to hold you in is a bomber with a haze you aren't immune to, a Guardian or two to heal off gun damage you may do

Assuming that 2-3 people are actually working as a team: with people who actually have gone a non-striker class
IMO people who are working together as a team like that deserve to win

a Guardian or two to heal off gun damage you may do

What do you mean by "you"? if you're the only person stuck in spawn, what's wrong with the opposing team wasting 2-3 of their member's time locking down just one person on yours?
If your entire team is stuck in spawn, do you really think two guardians can heal off the gun damage from 3-6 Polarises?

all they need to do to hold you in is a bomber with a haze you aren't immune to

The only haze bombs I know that obstruct passage by restricting mobility are Voltaic Tempest, Shivermist Buster, and Stagger Storm. Notes on haze bombing:
Players with full Snarbolax have Shiver immunity
Players with full Mercurial have Shock immunity
Stun immunity is not something frequently brought to Lockdown, but people do have it through UVs.
You can incapacitate bombers pretty easily with status effects: Bombers can be shut down entirely by shocking them (Storm Driver, Polaris, Voltedge, counter-bombing with Voltaic Tempest) or removing their ability to place bombs in more than one spot by freezing or stunning them. (Cryo Driver, Glacius, Permafroster, Winter Grave, Callahan, Iron Slug, counter-bombing with Stagger Storm or Shivermist Buster) Fire also is a moderate irritation for bombers (Combuster, Magma Driver, Blazing Pulsar, counter-bombing with Ash of Agni).
Enemy haze bombs give your Guardian shield invincitinks so you can pass through them slowly, but unharmed, regardless of other players wailing on your shield.

rest strikers to pick off that one guy who is immune to the haze.

All he has to do is walk up to the bomber with a primed FoV charge and let loose, taking down any strikers that wanna get too close in the meantime.
And since you're all in spawn, you're free to let off as many charged gun attacks as you like, free of the fear of being cut down by a striker.

If your entire team gets stuck in spawn, it's sort of their fault for not choosing any class other than striker, and not having any other equipment other than Chaos/Black Kat and Swords. If you choose glass Scissors all the time, eventually your opponent is going to choose Rock.

The important thing to

The important thing to remember is the camping is a symptom of unbalanced teams. It's not an inherent problem to the game. Even if the losing team sneaks out and captures a base, the stronger team quickly retakes and shuts them back down. The ideal solution would be to make more balanced teams.

That being said, the best way to camp a base is with guns (usually pulsar). Guardians are very helpful in that they heal strikers who get hit by guns. They also rejuvenate them after they kill off someone who rushed out. To discourage camping you will need a powerful gun of some sort, with limited sight but long range. Kind of like a rocket puppy.
Another solution (which I think is better) would be to simply give people 10 seconds of invulnerability after respawn. The invulnerability would disappear the instant you attack, but nothing can touch you when it is in effect.

Hmm.

I remember in the past a similar thread popped up.

What was suggested then was a swarm turret that targeted a single team.

What I would like to see would be a couple of toggle switches that sit around the outside of a spawn. The idea would be if a player on that team hit the switch, it would spawn defensive turrets for 10 seconds. If a member of the other team hits the switch, it would spawn defensive turrets for 30 seconds. Regardless of who hits the switches, the turrets will target the team not spawning inside of the base. These switches are affected by a status bomb, so placing a shivermist down outside the enemy base will make the turrets spawn and fight you.
This prevents spawn camping, but also prevents the annoying bit where you're just passing by the enemy base to get to the point and you are roflstomped by a turret that's just sitting there.

The idea is that the team being spawn camped has a panic button that they have to work to hit, but once hit will cripple the other team. At the same time, in order to effectively spawn camp the other team, players must avoid hitting the panic button themselves, thus preventing unrestricted use of haze bombs and random pulsar shots directly outside of the base.

The reason the home team only has a 10 second timer is so they can't just hit the button whenever they spawn and have the annoying turret outside of the base always. Instead, if your team is pushing up without casualties, the other team can freely walk past your base and sneak up on the points you have there.
