Damage doesn't mean too much

Damage doesn't mean too much by itself, its all about who you kill. If you spend a match suppressing a threat such as Dutch-Oven or Orion-Omega, and end up getting 12k but you win, then it is worth more, than getting 30k farming off of poor noobs who don't play the game too much.

Big numbers tho

3. 35k - Same as 2 but with an 8 min match
4. 45k - Same as 3 but being the only one with hp trinks

Finale-Flare,
Only Dutch-Oven supresses threats. Orion-Omega just sits back and drools while AT does everything for him...At least according to Theirillusion.

Also, it's not even about who you kill, it's about how much of their time you can waste.
Think about what does killing accomplish. It sends the player back to base and forces them to wait 5-20 seconds before coming back into play. What if instead of killing two people, you lead them on merry dance for a solid 40 seconds? It's the same effect as killing both of them, then instantly killing both of them again after they respawn.
There's really no way to judge how valuable a person is to the team's victory simply by looking at the scoreboard. Competitive people go for damage, because the scoreboard offer some objective proof of their superiority.

True Skill.........

To win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill

In my opinion, damage says nothing.
