Shock and Fire status suggestion

Ok so most of us here know about the "sonic Mode" in the game. Basically if you have enough HP no monster (except stalkers) can take ALL that HP in one hit.

My problem is that if you get inflicted with shock or fire you CAN die from one hit due to the chip damage the status deals which would take away the 1% that you would have been left with from a status free (or non damaging status) monster.

As a solution I would propose that if a hit would cut you down to the "Sonic Mode" then you couldn't get inflicted with shock or fire status.

I assume traps are not included in this? If so, it wouldn't be fair to just run around in fire.

Grate traps would be included since they deal damage whether or not the status does (seriously just go get stuck on a freeze trap).

Wisp traps would not be affected since they ONLY deal status.

You have a good few seconds to use a remedy pill.
Even I can do it, and I'm playing from Australia.

P.S. Stalker attacks are also blocked by Last Stand. Last Stand reliability scales inversely with maximum health. Shield health is added to this, if your shield was up when you were hit by the fatal attack.
I've noticed a considerable decline in reliability when above 800 health (15 vita with proto) so anything under this in Firestorm Citadel and you're fine. I'm pretty sure this health amount scales with depth though, perhaps even the same as Shield Health does: You still have to worry about Jelly Cube spines and gun puppy bullets when you've got an 8 vita in RJP.
