An infinite arena

Hello, everybody so I recently thought again about an infinite arena with some boss stage every 10 or 15 waves done (since there's no more limits in the number of depths we can do per day). We would get the usual stuffs that the monsters drop and maybe some krogmo coin every boss killed (1 or 2) (yeah i'm not really into pvp) and those who have the expansion would be able to fight seerus too. Traps and spawners could appears on some waves when you defeated the first boss would be logic so that you don't have to be carefull at the beginning. I thought about putting the shadow lair's bosses in too but only when you get really far in the arena (like wave 100 you get to fight the rabids snarbolax). I don't really have a clear idea of what it would look like but tell me if the idea seems nice to you.

The first idea has some

The first idea has some pretty good things, the quests can be interesting if it does have an influence, the skills thing is not needed now that we have the sprites.

The second link isn't really what i'm thinking about. If i want to play to a game like the one in the video, i would play mario or rayman ^^

And the third link is leading me to a random internet page with links ^^

The third...

The third one was meant to lead you to google links that has a more sophisticated search system that you can use to find threads that are already based on your idea. This way, after you take a look at different threads, you might want to take some ideas from those threads and add them to your thread and credit those threads with a link to the original. It's better for you to take a look yourself after i have pointed you the way, then me doing all the research and showing you each link.

I like your way of thinking, learn by yourself :)

So i've searched a little by myself and i've found some stuff but not a lot. Anyway i think that there should be different maps and themes and random waves : you don't know what kind of monsters will come maybe only fiend maybe they'll all be there. We could be able to buy the usual items (health/remedy caps, potion or kit (mecha, turret ...) since it would get so hard that it could come in handy ;). Some random stranger like basil would sell those at a safe point that would only open between waves. I also thought about random spawners of monsters, cubes, traps (like totems, crystals that heal monsters and wheels). There would be normal traps too like spikes, poison/fire/ect coming out of the ground that would spawn (or not) in different places and maybe different bosses at the same time (like 2 snarbolax or jk + vana ect). Anyway waiting for feedback. Thanks for reading me by the way.

Hm.

I've been of the idea of having a horde mode inside the core that is endless would be a good way to do this. A wave system would work in that we are given a couple tier 1 item pads at the start of the horde mode. After every 4th wave, we have a swarm wave. After every 5th wave, we would get about 2x wave/5 (such that we get 2 more per every 5 waves, and it adds up over time) number treasure boxes. Monsters from all tiers of the clockworks can spawn in here, so that makes the enemies a bit less predictable.

Every 10 waves there would be a boss wave. Boss waves would consist of bosses and minibosses, and would be supported by swarm monsters. Each wave and each boss is chosen randomly, however the following bosses would not be able to spawn/would be tweaked for this idea: Roarmulus Twins, Red Roarmulus Twins, Warmaster Seerus, Sputterspark. Might be a few more but that's all I can think of right now.

After every boss wave, you are able to retreat to the elevator and return to Haven with your heat in tact. Elucid would also help you fight off the swarm waves, and frantically work on making the elevator work on the other waves.

Yep that could totally work.

PS : the bosses that can be tricky to put in, can easily be put inside if indestructibles cubes spawn where there should be walls to create the original arena where you fight the boss ^^.

Not quite.

Roarmulus need flip-switches in order to work, so you'd need to spawn those in. Warmaster Seerus is a DLC boss and thus shouldn't be included. Sputterspark and map-required bosses (sparkmaster 3000 or whatever) need those maps in order to work.

Snarby would also need a beast bell to spawn.

I don't think it is that hard to make some switch spawns with some bells :) and for the other one, sputterspark (i don't even know who it is) if he does really require a different map to spawn they can make something that teleport us to that place or spawn it where we are no ?

PS : and the Warmaster could be a boss that only spawn when everybody in the party got the expansion

Well that's the thing

In order to do any map iterations with bosses, you'd need to teleport players. You know that terrible lagspike when you first start fighting the roarmulus twins? It would do that for every boss that you had to teleport to.

So yes, it would be that hard to make some switch spawns and some bells.

I would personally love to see some new bosses rather than rehashed old bosses, or more interesting minibosses that are still difficult like tortodrones.

New bosses that's something that i've wanted them to add in the game for such a long time and you just find a way to add one of my dream to another. Well then idk about you but for the final boss i think that King Krogmo could transform his own self with some kind of rituals and become a giant buff ass demon that wouldn't be the same everytime and everywhere : let's say there's several different arenas; in one he could transform into a huge muscular demon that would stun, hit very hard and spawn other fiends and in another one (some kind of dark forest) he could mutate into a cursed carnivorous plant that bite, poison/curse (not as often as the poison) and spawn little plant monsters. (I also thought about some kind of fire bomberman/demon with a trident that would throw fire and stun bomb, have a fire breath, attack with his weapon of course and spawn little kamikaze demon). That way we would have new monsters and bosses (and maybe new stuff added in krogmo's shop or crafting machine).
For the story of why did he mutate into those monsters to defeat us, it would be because he's angry that he's loosing something because we are winning in his arenas. And for why he is still alive after our fights, it'd be because we didn't kill him we just defeated him and the developpers could add a little discussion with him saying that he's sorry for being dumb and that he thanks us for stopping him to destroy his whole coliseum. What do you think ?

i really liked the idea, but

i really liked the idea, but when they put it in arcade gates that means that maybe some people don't want to go there, going to an infinite arena means you r going to die anyways. so maybe elevators should be an available choice at the beginning of the depth or maybe there should be a normal arena before it and infinite arena in place of danger ones (elevators still possible).

More bosses have been suggested several times over, so it's not quite a new idea on my end.

I would say leave Krogmo to running his coliseum. Since we fall or quit eventually (thus, endless) it's not like he has anything to get angry over. New bosses could be things that Three Rings has wanted to add, but doesn't know what to do with it.
Things could be like a Devilite CEO (think a giant pitboss that can spawn devilites, and constantly has two invincible pit bosses running around promoting the devilites they spawn. This pit boss can attack like an overtimer however when they get 25% of their health taken away, and maybe also have some unique attacks like a reskin of vanaduke's flame attack), a crimson order engineer (can spawn mecha knights, can attack like a thwacker or an incinerator, can also use healing runes), a rainbow lichen colony that spawns all sorts of slimes, the green jelly giants... There are plenty of ideas out there that aren't extraordinary bosses (outside of that Devilite CEO... That could be an expansion pack on its own) but can prove to be difficult bosses when you don't have health pads between waves.

Yeah i already tried on the french suggestions forums to throw some ideas of new bosses too (so much typing for nothing ^^) so yeah anyway just hoping that someday the developpers will ad something like this in the game but i don't think so (sadly :s) sorry again for my bad english and have a nice day ^^
