What will happen if energy prices continue to rise?

I am just curious as to how it will affect game-play, I am posting unbiased QUESTIONS and just want OPINIONS, it has consistently been going up since I started, "it has doubled since then in fact and it's been only just over a MONTH" here are a few points I would like answered biased or not.

"P.S. remember that it is not OOO fault but our own that prices are rising in the first place, yes they implemented the model but I doubt they even expected the CE per crown ratio to rise so quickly"

1. what will happen once it breaks the 10k point?
2. will people be able to play consistently for more than 10 floors a day when that happens without buying CE with money "not including crafting"?
3. Do you think it will cause MORE people to play or LESS with higher energy prices?
4. "as an extension of question #3" Will OOO make MORE or LESS revenue?
5. and finally what do you think needs to be done that will affect the economy in a POSITIVE matter without unbalancing the game?

and here are my opinions...

1. The game will take more of a pay-to-play with a 1-hour free trial per day.
2. I personally believe that only a few hardcore players with an active friends list and guild will be able to do so and only with full groups, I highly doubt the average player could considering a normal full t2 run rakes in about 6.5k with a full group.
3. I don't think it will affect the new players making accounts and downloading the game but it WILL affect the regulars.
4. I believe they will make around the same or slightly less due to some people quitting but the people with jobs will buy more... overall it won't be too substantial.
5. Possibly lower the price of lifts and increase mist tank sizes to 200 but increase the cost of crafting high-end gear... say lower the lifts to 8 so the player could do 25 floors without reviving or opening bonus doors which would be around 2.5 hours of game-time.

Another more sensible option would be to actually remove the trading system itself and mist energy with it but keep the auction house and you would have to pay actual money for crafting which would make the developers around the same amount of money but would help the population grow. Yes it would make it a set-in-stone pay to win game but once you bought enough CE to upgrade all your gear you wouldn't need to worry about energy anymore except for your trinket/additional weapon slots, overall the revenue would be in large bursts instead of a steady stream but they would make around the same, they could even implement this sort of style for a month or two and see how people feel about it.

Overall I think the market is just doomed to fail in the long run PERSONALLY because very few people are going to be using it once the trading rate becomes too sharp, thanks for reading!

Oh, and one more thing... you Naysayers who think everything will be alright, how are you going to feel when it hits 14k in a few more months? It is fairly easy to exploit the trade market if one has the means to do it as it has happened many times already, also I am VERY sure that almost nobody is able to make 14k in 10 floors no matter how PRO they are unless they repeat the last 3 floors of tier 2 on repeat 3 times all day long which doesn't happen too often LOL.

If energy prices continue to

If energy prices continue to rise that means more people are trying to be free-to-play, which will mean more cry topics on the price of energy. A dark future.

Got cash

If energy was so easy to get then i wouldn't be putting my hard earn money into this game. Your CE comes from me not 3rings. i don't sell my energy often but why should I sell my CE dirt cheep when I am using real money to get it. But I got to deal with angry customers and I still have to keep that smile on my face. I think my energy is worth well over 10,000 crowns if users continue to complain like this.

Do you think paying user's should be giving are CE to free user's who don't want to pay? NO!
If 3rings was having money issues because on CE and crown cost they would do something about it, yes?

I know there are people who play for free and don't complain. In fact I am nicer to those players and will help them out with a little CE as long as they are chill and don't complain like this of course. I mean I don't go over 300 CE but that is still very generous in my opinion.

1.At 10k per hundred fewer

1.At 10k per hundred fewer people will profit running dungeons, lowering CE usage

2.This would limit how many people will be able to sustain their dungeon crawling soley off of the revenue earned.

3.Fewer people will play, innability to profit off runs will frustrate players who will then quit. Those people might also direct people away from SK by criticizing it to their friends, negative online reviews, etc.

4.They will make less revenue, fewer new players means fewer people buying energy with cash. Fewer people to sell energy to for crowns also means fewer people buying energy.

5.There is very little use for crowns, everything revolves around energy. Because of this, the crown is a weak form of currency (little ingame gurantee of goods or services, and since high end equipment is aquired by upgrading already leveled equipment, players have little use for crowns as a currency to trade among each other), and energy is a strong form of currency (necessary to run dungeons, significant amounts needed to craft which is how we reach endgame because of equipment being bound to us, weapon slots, trinket slots).

OOO needs to implement ingame features that give the crown some value. Hopefully one of the goblins (if not both) in the bazaar Nick has alluded to in the thread in general will be offering an equipment unbinding feature. Hopefully the currency it accepts for this service will be crowns. This gives players a guranteed ingame incentive to amass crowns. This would serve to take crowns out of the game (making them more valuable because there is a new use for them as well as at least slowing the rate the amount of crowns entering the game each day). With a newfound desire for crowns people will perhaps be willing to accept fewer crowns per energy. With a whole slew of tier 4 and 5 equipment being unbound, people will rush to put them in the auction house, which deals exclusively in crowns. People will likely charge a considerable minimum bid on these items to recoup the unbinding cost, as well as the cost of crafting. People that want to buy the newly tradeable high end gear will start selling energy on the market (perhaps to the point of dumping it). If they have neither the crowns nor the energy, they will be more inclined to whip out their credit cards to buy energy to sell for quick crowns. Other things that deal exclusively in crowns can also be implemented, such as the often suggested pvp type contests that charge entry fees.

I also believe market abuse is at the very least contributing to the current current weak currency vs strong currency exchange rate. I wouldn't be so inclined to altar or get rid of the market, but rather disallow abuse keep track of abuse practices (including keeping an ear to the ground for new abuse systems, since anything that is done to combat abusers will force abusers to find a work around) and take action against those abusing the market.

What is going to happen is

What is going to happen is really simple, the prices conitunes to rise Players are either forced to buy CE Via Real Cash or the player base will die off and the price will begin to drop, the simple solution would be a unified boycott till the prices drop... thats what im doing, just hording up crowns untill the price is more reasonable... and contrary to what people have said OOO is partly to blame, note the price really diddnt start jumping untill the auction house was put in, add in the people scalping pattern prices from bazil (and the people who are actualy buying them) ... theres just to much money in the player base.

You want to prevent this from happening? few simple steps
#1 Minimize buying of CE (would be better to stop buying it all together)
#2 Do not buy patterns from auction house that are excessively over priced compared to the price they could be bought from bazil for (ie paying 20k for the twisted targe pattern, only 5k from bazil)
#3 Start Buying CE with Real money and start under cutting people.

as long as people are buying it the price will conitune to go up... people stop buying it it will slowly begin to deflate, simple economics

the only other potential solution would be to convince OOO to Make The rate crowns are dropped in the dungeon scale based on the price of CE, however this is a awful idea, as it would cause prices to inflate even faster and put even more crowns in the player base

IF IT IS CALLED A STARTER BACK AT THE BEGIN OF THE GAME U should get 1 for free Starter pack is it name well Why do they call it that They Should Call It Bonus Pack.No enegry i say it would be good it draing money out of people wallets just for fun really At least should be a month trial to help so
people know what CE can do.I would say lower the prices before less and less poeple play the game and if ur still gona raise the prices AT LEAST MAKE IT WORTH IT MAKE THE GAME BETTER AND BIGGER AND GIVE MORE CE FOR THE PRICES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another idea

how about we stop buyin CE and the OOO see that there not get money and lower the PRICES be cause i have seen that prices have doubled in about
a month THE Only thing that keeps me buyin is that i live in the uk and that makes prices cheaper.

No chance of changes

The only way OOO would pay any attention to the CE market in that way would be if a majority of the player base stopped purchasing CE. This is obviously never going to happen being that many people are fine with just paying the current prices. Not to mention there are still, I assume, a large number of players willing to purchase CE with cash so the prices don't affect them. Overall, players are the ones who affect the CE prices, and not enough players think that the energy market is a problem so therefore it won't be changed. The only way that OOO will consider it is once CE prices reach past the point where people cannot get their energy back with a typical dungeon run.

I do not sell CE and I don't

I do not sell CE and I don't particularly see a problem with the price. But then again I have perspective.

I've played other MMOs that have a cash shop. You could trade in game currency for cash shop currency(CSC from here on) through the AH of those games. 10k gold turned into 10 CSC. We're talking a good week of dungeon diving/questing to save that much after paying for armor/weapon repairs and potions to get 10 CSC. To make a single high end item you'd need fusion stones, 6 of them, which costed a couple hundred CSC each. The high end players of course could get the gold much faster... but by that point they were more or less doing the equivalent of UV hunting.

You can get enough crowns to turn into CE and craft a 4* into a 5* item in a week. 100 ME can easily be turned into 10k in Tier 2. Possibly more in Tier 3 if you get lucky on the 5* drops and pick your floors.

@liamlawler

It's called a "starter pack" because it has all the stuff to get you ready to jump into the gates. A full set of upgrades (approximately 800 CE value), a heat amplifier (supposed 800 CE value, more like maybe 200 CE value imo), a 1* shield, a 1* bomb, and I think 7500 CE. It's not given away for free because obviously it's meant to entice new players to buy CE. Your free "starter pack" is your Proto gear and Mist Energy.

Honestly, you can't blame the CE sellers for wanting to get some return on the real money they're spending to buy CE. Especially when you consider the extreme lack of crown sinks... they kinda need your crowns about as much as a color blind person needs a color tv. Meaning they're collecting them hoping they'll have a use some time in the future. Personally if I was buying CE with real money I'd just keep it for myself... as its worth a whole lot more then crowns are.
