In the Dreams and Nightmares Mission you are teamed up with Vaelyn, one of the toughest yet derpiest NPC knights around.
Problems:
- Vaelyn has a problem with getting caught up fighting the monsters. Often the player will be forced to abandon her as she will try to fight the endless monsters coming out of the 3-4 spawners.
-She also has a very short range of agro, often she won't notice a monster till the player walks past it; even if she is about 2 blocks away from the enemy.
- The NPC also acts rather spastic, running about when there is no enemy.
Fixes:
- In the floors Vaelyn should teleport to the player when they get too far away, Mecha knight kits will do this and so will Rescued knights. For the sake of the Final fight Vaelyn would lose that ability when you are in the arena as we know Vaelyn could beat the fight by herself (since she is invincible and can KO monsters easily.
- Increase the agro range on Vaelyn, add priority to monsters that are targeting the player.
- If there are no monsters around Vaelyn or the player she should seek out the nearest player and calmly follow them.
For your fixes, you only just offered the solution of teleporting once you stray far, far away from Vaelyn. Might I add for her to drop any fight and rush to your side if you stray a moderate distance from her? Mecha Knights and Spiral Knights already do that in the Clockworks, and it helps for them to help you fight monsters on the other side of an arena.
