can zombies grab you? and since when could they bite you?

ok so I was grinding vana when I was trapped between two slag walkers and immediately after that I began taking rapid damage from them until I was dead. It wasn't the normal zombie attack as the only thing I swore I saw was the slags' head moving quickly.

so was it a glitch or can zombies grab and nom down on your knights body

Zombies nom on brains. (Its a secondary attack after their jump.)

Originally their leap would grab you and start biting. It was kinda broken because, if alone, there isn't really much you can do once you've been grabbed (other than stand still and die). So they changed it to the damaging leap we know now.

However, the SK code is probably a big mess at this point. Somehow some random scraps of code for the zombie grabbing and nomming you exists somewhere. I suspect it happens when a zombie jumps on you during your invincibility frames, but I can't get it to reliably trigger. The grab was a bit fiddly when it was around.

Once, it happende with me

So I was doing Vana in a trio. I was in the central are in D25 Charred Court, when a Slag Walker jumped on me and grabbed on to me. Then I started losing HP rapidly. Then a fellow knight attacked the zombie and suddenly it was just standing there like nothing happened. It didnt even take damage.

Two things...

1) They did re-implement Wolver tracking mechanics. It's called Gorgos.

2) Take off those rose-tinted nostalgia glasses. Getting grabbed was removed because it was broken and people hated it. If you were alone and you got grabbed, you HAD to tank a hit. I don't mean a bite, I mean a hit from one of the many enemies that'd be around you. At least with freeze you could shield a hit, use a remedy, or just get resistance. When grabbed, you couldn't even shield. Even if you weren't alone, getting grab wasn't exactly easy to distinguish between "Help I'm being devoured" and "I'm surrounded by zombies, just like everywhere else in FSC."

It's even indistinguishable from lag-freeze that sometimes happens if your latency spikes during or after an attack: your character just stands there frozen, no animation, no nothing.

If you like the wolver tracking, you should play UGWW. Fun.
