Mission name: Battle for the core
The Alpha Squad discovered that "The Sleeper" in the core is the purpose of cradle. Cradle was made to protect the sleeper, presumably from the swarm that is now attacking it. It's time for the Spiral Order to fight for the sleeper, and defeat the swarm, no matter the cost. If the swarm takes over the sleeper, we lose all chances of getting home. You have proven that you are just as capable, if not more so, than the alpha squad. So it is time for you to lead. To fight. To win. Lead a team down to the core, and protect the sleeper. A team of the best. Follow in the footsteps of the alpha squad. Become the Omega Squad. And do whatever it takes to complete your mission.
I thought that this might be a cool idea for an upcoming mission in the storyline. Thoughts? Questions? Concerns?

I like the idea of the Spiral Order trying to deal with the swarm more directly. I was thinking this mission would do better as a rotation then a story mission, this way it's less of "go in and kill the super death god" and more "keep that jerk locked in". It lets us have a reason to do the mission multiple times with out giving a real ending to the game just yet.
