Incredible Artwork in SK

I've played a lot of games in my life. A lot. But from Valve, To Insomniac Games, to Square-Enix, I've NEVER been so much in love with the ARTWORK in a game as I am with SK. Even when I stop playing the game, when I fall out of it, I still can't get over how beautiful it looks.

I mean, the characters and objects themselves are just adorable, but not so much that it's disillusioning. But even more than that, the level construction gives you a sense of how immense the Clockworks are. You can look off the edge of the land you're standing on and see enormous cogs turning ever-so-slowly miles below you.

I can honestly say that this artwork in SK is my absolute favorite out of decades of gaming. Is anyone else in with me on this?

yes

Yes. I don't play any other games, because I haven't found any other games (for Mac/Linux) with a visual design like this one. I don't want musclebound barbarians and chain-mail bikinis. I want adorable wizards dressed as chefs wielding giant rocket-powered hammers.

Bopp sort of expressed my opinions of other games quite simply, I likewise harbor distaste for cliches, but since I use xbox 360 I can play games like bioshock infinite.
You may have heard of B.S.Infinite before, it's the majestic game taking place inside a flying city. The first thing that struck me is the resemblance in art nd production values to spiral knights. Only thing is that it feels a little stretched today, perhaps needing to adopt better graphics, visuals, models, everything or to adopt the parts of older games and become a high quality retro-style game. But by any interpretation, SK is smart, elegant, and it's mature community is the envy of other games.

thanks

Thanks for the recommendation. I've heard great things about that particular game elsewhere.

Bopp's first comment really summed up my opinion of this game. I think one of the reasons i love it so much (besides nostalgia lol) is the fact that I've yet to find a very common cliche in it. (or I'm just not thinking of one ~Z

There are plenty of very common cliches in Spiral Knights, just less than most games.
