I've just completed another solo tier 3 run straight to the core to yet again walk away with 0 5* mats. Is there some way that could be implemented to ensure there's at least 1 in there somewhere?
I know it's supposed to be random but I find it dissapointing when i've made the effort to finish the whole run, spending extra energy reviving when mobbed by shock greavers:'(, to get to the end with very little to show for it.
Also Basil is getting a bit stingy with his 5* recipes as well, luckily i still need some 4*'s so i'm not gonna start crying just yet:)
On a plus note i'm really enjoying the difficulty spike on tier 3, except for the fiends, who reduce me to curling up in the fetal position in the corner.

Sheesh, that's harsh!

I think 5* materials could afford to be a little more plentiful, but on the other hand you only need one of any type to create one item if memory serves.

As for the Greavers issue (off-topic), they're hard to deal with without a weapon like the Dread Venom Striker/Wild Hunting Blade because otherwise you won't attack quickly enough to make all of them flinch. Devilites in particular are merciless in groups as they have little to no warning as to when they decide to attack, and they're also incredibly fast on their feet. In groups there are too many to get in close and your shield usually ends up breaking in mere moments before you even get the chance to get a hit in (especially with the recent damage-patch).

And yes, good ol' Basil isn't always as nice, but that's usually not too much of an issue, although I've seen players suffer several runs without as much as a single 5* recipe in stock. Huh, I guess he could afford to be a little more generous as well.

Man, this is why we have the Auction House; we're no longer really beholden to Basil's sadistic/amnesiac/incompetent restocking policies, nor the emotionless cruelty of random drops. I agree that 5* drops could do with turning up a bit, just so we're not beholden to the Auction House either, but there are other options if you really need that Flame Soul or whatever.

5 star materials can be rare

5 star materials can be rare with no issue; 5 star materials are already way too plentiful, to the point where it's not even a good idea to sell them on the market because there's already too many up for auction.

Keep them low, so that actually finding one means something.

AH woes

Yes, the auction house is ok for some of the more common materials but it's expensive if you're after a sun silver or other rarer material. The same applies for recipes, some are common and cheaper while others are quite extortionate.
I prefer to use the AH only as a last resort as i like to find all my materials and recipes myself if i can.
About the greavers, i'm currently levelling a flurish which i hope will fare me better, as i don't like the cutter, at the very least it should reduce the amount of tears i spill:D

It's fine the way it is. If more 5* materials dropped, they would become worthless.

Before the auction house patch, I had to buy Sun Silvers at 10k apiece. I'm almost certain that you can get them for less now because of the AH.
