Auction House question

Not new to the game, but...
If you bid on something in the auction house, then buy now BEFORE someone else bids on the same item, will you get the crowns from your last bid back?

Tried it and it said I was outbid, and my crowns were refunded.
So that's good.
I've never done that, but that would definitely be the correct behavior. So it must work that way, unless there's a bug.
You could try it on a really cheap item (a material costing 50 crowns or something).
