Name

Controlled Snipes/Devisnipes/Snipelites.

Appearance

You can probably figure it out from the name. Snipes with Devilites on top. Non-element snipes are white.

Description

Basically Snipes being controlled by Devilites - I mean, they would probably be better at doing (some) things when mounted on a flying bird-like creature, so why not capture a few?

Family

Either fiend, beast, or both.

Health

Same as a normal devilite.

Abilities

Peck - The snipe darts forward and pecks the knight.
Toss ____ - The devilite on top throws whatever it is it usually throws.

Movement

Can't dash/jump like a normal devilite, but can fly around fairly quickly anyway.

Resistances

If it's a...

Fiend: Resistant to shadow, weak to piercing, like most fiends.
Beast: Resistant to elemental, weak to piercing, like most beasts.
Both: Weak to piercing, 50% of the normal resistance to elemental and shadow - takes 50% damage from UVs targeting it, but takes damage from both fiend and beast UVs.

More likely to be stunned than normal.

Variants

Burning Snipes/ Burning Devisnipes/Burning Snipelites (Orange Snipes mounted by Firebranders)
Charged Snipes/Charged Devisnipes/Charged Snipelites (Teal Snipes mounted by Devil-ITs)
Frosty Snipes/Frosty Devisnipes/Frosty Snipelites (Blue Snipes mounted by Layoafers)
Toxic Snipes/Toxic Devisnipes/Toxic Snipelites (Green Snipes mounted by Blarfuls)
No Pit Bosses.
Not sure if there should be Overtimers.
Not sure if there should be Yesmen.

Animations

Basic snipe flight animation. When it loses all of its HP, the Devilite is knocked off and dies, and the freed Snipe flies away (similarly to how some snipes in Haven fly away when a knight walks near them).

There could also be a new room added to areas like Devilish Drudgery where you can see a pathway to an area full of snipes, which devilites are capturing. (You can't walk to that area though.) When going near, several Devilites and Devisnipes spawn in.

I like the mounted idea but I don't think Snipes should be the mounts since they are probably the only monsters (animals) in the game that don't try to kill us.

I also don't think many people would like a more mobile devilite.

Bump.

^

1. Then should the mount be? Maybe Wolvers?
2. Remember that they can't dash around and dodge attacks the way Devilites do.

Probably not wolvers, they actually do dash and dodge bullets and in T3 they teleport.

I was thinking that the mount could be a T1 greaver for the overtimers (Limited to only melee swings).
A Gorgo that is too lazy to even attack you for the regular devilites (since the floaty gorgos are difficult to gun or sword).

Another option

Name

Deviwolves.

You can probably figure it out from the name. Snipes with Devilites on top. Non-element snipes are white.

Description

Basically Wolvers being controlled by Devilites.

Family

Either fiend, beast, or both.

Health

Same as a normal devilite.

Abilities

Bite - The wolver darts forward and bites the knight.
Toss ____ - The devilite on top throws whatever it is it usually throws.

Movement

Walks around like a normal wolver. Can dash in higher tiers, but not burrow/teleport.

Variants

Burning Deviwolves (Ash Tails mounted by Firebranders)
Charged Deviwolves (Voltails mounted by Devil-ITs)
Frosty Snipes/Frosty Devisnipes/Frosty Snipelites (Frostifurs mounted by Layoafers)
Toxic Snipes/Toxic Devisnipes/Toxic Snipelites (Rabid Wolvers mounted by Blarfuls)
No Pit Bosses.
Not sure if there should be Overtimers.
Not sure if there should be Yesmen.
Not sure if there should be Alphas.

Sprites

I, personally, think that snipes would be a better idea. Except for the fact that Deviwolves would be double weak to piercing... Oh...YEAH! If they made Deviwolves, I WOULD NEVER GIVE UP MY STRIKE NEEDLE!!!!! (Something I probably wouldn't do anyway, except to turn it into the Blitz Needle...) But I would still prefer Snipes, and it would be really cool if the Snipes controlled by Devilites, etc. would have red glowing eyes, sort of like the Snarbolax...

Actually

I'm not thinking about "mind control", I'm thinking more of "forcing to do stuff".

Also, Deviwolves wouldn't be double weak to pierce, just have the normal weakness level (and would be resistant to shadow and elemental, but would only have 50% of the normal resistance - UVs targeting fiends or beasts would both be triggered, but at 50% strength).

Ok. Fine. No double weaakness.
