I could find types of damage dealt in the wiki, (like Shadow, Piercing, and Elemental,) but I could not find status effects. Please either tell me how to find it, or please make a page on that, because I don't think I am able to.
Status effects
Thanks Vanaduke-Destroyer! But, I think it would be nice to have it on the wiki main page.
Do you mean linking to status on the main page? I could contact support about it if we can agree on a format (as basic account types, used by players and most editors, cannot edit the main page for various reasons). I propose...
In the Clockworks Handbook section:
*Teamwork
*Exploration & Monsters
*Damage & Status
*Pickups & Consumables
*Missions
*Playing Guides
That would be great! Thanks! I would very much like links to more of the pages! So, are those supposed to be future links? 'Cause if they are, they sound good to me! If they are, that is.
I don't have an opinion on this particular issue, but I'll just point out that there's such a thing as having too many links on the main page. Ideally just the absolutely most important ones would be there, so as not to distract the readers with less-important ones.
Actually, I guess I do have an opinion. You can find pages about status by searching the wiki for "status", "status effect", or any of the individual statuses. The information is already available enough (although as always the pages could use some tidying up).
I agree that the main page should be sparse. Let's wait for more opinions before we bring the issue up with support.
I actually think we should add statuses to the main page, but after that, everything will be fine and no more links there will be necessary (unless another major part of the game is introduced).
I think that the Status Effects should be on the same page as the types of damage dealt. (Types of damage dealt being stuff like Elemental). As I stated previously, I could find types of damage dealt in the wiki, (like Shadow, Piercing, and Elemental,) but I couldn't find status effects on the same page. I think that you should be able to find status effects on the same page.
That's a good point. The wiki generally lacks data on status, including what it actually means to have a "BLAH chance of inflicting BLEH status." There are a few forum threads about, as well as a few damage tables (especially for fire and shock) here and there. Wiki work is almost entirely voluntarily done by players, so, it might be a while before significant data is obtained.
Transferring status data from threads into well-written wiki pages has been my main project for the past year or so...but I haven't started yet. Not much time to volunteer for Three Rings these days, sadly.
I might be able to get some of it done between August 10 and August 16. So I call "dibs".
You go to the wiki. At the top is a link that says "Log In". Click on it and log in. (Steam accounts can't log in. But you can make an account through www.spiralknights.com and use that to edit the wiki, even if you never play on that account.)
Once you're logged in, go to almost any wiki page. At the top is a link that says "Edit". Click on it. Start editing. (Some pages, such as the main page, can be edited only by administrators.)
Basic wiki markup is not hard to learn. Just inspect what's there, and inspect the page, and you can figure out most things. (Some pages use templates heavily, and some templates are hard to use.)
Please recheck all information you put multiple times before publishing. You said false things several times before (like pepperboxes being elemental).
Thank you! But pepperboxes are elemental. They deal fire, a type of elemental damage.

In case this post isn't just a troll: No. Fire is a status, not a damage type. Of course, the main effect of fire is that damage happens. And the type of that damage is normal, not elemental. Additionally, all of the damage done by the weapon itself is normal. All of this is covered in the relevant wiki articles.
I am not trolling. I really thought elemental dealt fire, lightning, or freeze, etc. Sorry, I was wrong. And what were the other false things??
In case it's useful to a potential wiki editor, let me give you some examples to help you understand the relationship between damage and status. For starters:
* Ice polyps deal piercing damage and freeze status.
* Ice lumbers deal elemental damage and freeze status.
* Ice devilites deal shadow damage and freeze status.
So you can see that freeze is not tied to any one damage type. It's a separate part of the monster's attack. Damage is the thing that kills you. Freeze is the thing that sticks your feet to the floor. Similarly:
* Dread Venom Striker deals normal damage and poison status.
* Plague Needle deals piercing damage and poison status.
* Venom Veiler deals elemental damage and poison status.
* Obsidian Edge deals shadow damage and poison status.
We could do similar exercises with many combinations of damage and status, including fire. I hope that this helps.
Only Vanaduke-Destroyer can explain what he meant by "false things several times before".
You could look at my other posts, and YOU could see what I posted that was wrong. I would appreciate knowing my mistakes. (And while you check them, feel free to comment!! :P) Anyway, sorry for posting false comments. I did not know that they were even false, so sorry again.
Yes, statuses and damage types are completely different things, and damage types/statuses aren't related to each-other.
However, (at least in normal, tier 1) -
Fire itself (not what inflicts it) deals normal damage.
Shock itself (not what inflicts it) deals elemental damage.
All status traps (only the traps, not weapons/enemies/vials/barriers/whatever else can inflict statuses) both deal split normal/elemental damage (50% normal, 50% elemental).
I also found out that spikes deal split normal/piercing damage (50% normal, 50% piercing).
This information only applies to traps in tier 1, normal difficulty . Traps (or at least, missile launchers in the IMF) have been found to deal different damage splits on different difficulties and possibly different tiers (tiers not tested). Normal: Mostly normal, some elemental (I think). Advanced: 50% normal, 50% elemental (I think). Elite: Mostly elemental, some normal.
Ok. Got it. But, it would still be cool to have it on the same page, and that page on the Main Page.
I agree, the status page should be on the main page, but I disagree with the statuses being put on the damage type page.
Unrelated to this, though - Is Trymal your main knight in-game?
If it helps, you can see the damage type you're suffering from by taking note of the color of the pips that fall around your knight when you take hits.
Here is an example image.
Elemental = Green, Normal = Red, Piercing = Yellow, Shadow = Purple. When I'm on fire from FoV in an elite mission lobby, my knight sheds red, for example.
I think it should be mentioned that certain status conditions can deplete your knight's health on the damage page, with the {{main}} template linking to Status. At the moment, status redirects to a category - it's done that since 2012. We can change that easily, if we want. But Bopp has dibs.
No, Trymal is not exactly my main guy, although, he was my first guy. My main guy is Vile-Person, though he is not on steam, and he is on a different computer. Were you hoping to friend me or something? That would be cool. And Dracora, thanks, I did not know that about the colours. I was wondering about that.
Vanaduke Destroyer, I got your friend request!! XD Thanks!
Look up the specific status you're looking for.
Or just look up "Status", which will bring you to a category page.
