The name made me think of Monster Rancher meets Dragon Quest.
This actually looks interesting. Nick will forever be associated with Slimes.

It looks completely adorable! ^-^ However my feelings are mixed. On one hand I'm glad that Nick's work will soon be published (causing all players to faint from massive cutness overload), but on another hand what this really is is...FPS in outerspace Farmville. Why yet another farm game? Hasn't the world seen plenty od those? Will I end up playing it a bit just to satisfy my curiosity and then be left uninterested? Or will Monomi's take on it be so wacky and special to change my perception of farming forever?
Either way I look forward to it. Just gotta wait...

Eh wot?
Can I ask, have you played Harvest Moon or its Rune Factory spin-off?

@Hexzyle Yes you may ask. The answer would be no. Unfortunately I don't have any of the consoles. Those games seem cute though.
Just to be clear, I'm not dissing Slime Rancher, just saying I'm excited for it but also keeping a healthy dose of scepticism.

I was asking why you were prejudiced about farming games, when there have been some very interesting ones released (especially the aforementioned Harvest Moon series, which Farmville imitated and then sucked all the life out of it)
You might be able to emulate it, Rune Factory 1, 2 and 3 are on the Nintendo DS. (Rune Factory 4 is on 3DS)
The Rune Factory series is basically the Harvest Moon as its core (Growing crops, managing your energy, talking to the townsfolk and getting all cuddly with the girls) and then adds in a whole Action RPG section to it, which involves going out to monster filled areas and fighting with a variety of different weapons and spells, mining ores and taming wild beasts so you can milk/ride/shear/whatever them, and then using all those materials to craft new weapons, tools, a huge variety of food that provides you different buffs, etc.
Farmhands is a crude gamemaker remake of Harvest Moon, with multiplayer. (but obviously with far less content)
It's missing the social interaction with the NPCs, which is my absolute favorite part of the Harvest Moon series, but oh well, it's free. Maybe I should reverse engineer it and add that in.
Oh don't worry, you'll be lets playing Slime Rancher soon enough. It's probably my most looked forward to game right now.
