So, I could've sworn that when I played many years ago, that if you were in a party, all of the crowns and heat were given to all knights, no matter who picked them up, and items were all thrown into a pot and distributed among all of the knights in the party. Now I feel like I have to run around and pick everything up manually. Why make it systematic to run around and pick everything up for yourself when we could just share and care. Let me know what you think or your decision toward the change (if there actually was one).
Sharing is Caring
There was a significant change regarding this. Many believe the drop system was put in place to hinder alternate account abuse. Most of us find the individualized tables fine and dandy, but also don't like having to run around looting everything ourselves. I wouldn't mind seeing "mystery materials," crowns, and heat that get picked up, with their amount/type determined when they pop into your inventory. That way you and your friends can loot for each other without the jealousy.
Here are the release notes regarding the change, under "Item Changes."
The crowns are shared. Everyone picks up his own crowns. When you pick up your crowns, on the other person's screen they will still be there for him to pick up. That's how it works. Hope this Helps!
He's not asking how it works now. He means, why does it work that way now instead of when people collect one thing, it's collected for everyone?
Yeah, others said it right. It's split to make everything instanced. I would say it's to counter alt abuse, but at the same time it means everything that drops is yours, no questions asked, no RNG breaking it for you. Before, to get all materials, you'd need to go solo. Now you get everything you see, good system.
What is annoying is on maps when you split up normally to do separate things, such as D25 of FSC. Having a change to specific spawns that make the monsters in there give money to the party members would be nice, but not mandatory.
Oh. That is a very good question... But, as Vanaduke-Destroyer said, people could just hop on right next to the elevator. Unless it was that you had to be alive, and in the mission at the time the money was collected. Also, that way people would have to take the same route. Or else, no one would have to work for their money, except the person who collected it for them. That would be unfair. They are just trying to make you work for your money as much as you can.
Couldn't someone just jump into a party that's at the elevator and suddenly, they have thousands more crowns?
No? Why would that happen? Who's suggesting that?
If you automatically get the crowns other people collected, people would jump in right next to the elevator, thus getting the crowns other people collected previously, before the guy jumped in at all.
But that guy wasn't there when the crowns were picked up, so he wouldn't get anything.
Just like now, if you're not there when a monster dies, you don't get any crown or item drops whatsoever.
So I'm just guessing about what could happen. I don't know if it could happen for sure.
I was there when you had to use energy to get on the elevators...
If it were that someone would only obtain the loot if they were present while it was being obtained. I just don't like the chore of running around and picking up all of my stuff. I'd much rather cut the hassle and share. They have a system regarding tokens that if you try to jump you don't get as many tokens compared to running the whole dungeon. Perhaps the same type of system can be established? Plus, no dropping items? I'm outraged. How do I give my allies potions I'm holding onto? This is a sad day.

Everyone has their own usable drops now. It essentially means there's theoretically 4x as many drops as there used to be, and no need to rush to grab the health pills because no-one else is going to steal them anymore.
If someone runs out of pills and dies, it's quite simply because they were playing too carelessly and too aggressively. If you're at low health, hang back for a bit. You're more useful to your team at low health and sort of not doing much than you are when you're dead and not doing anything.
