I wanted to play lockdown to get tokens to buy recipes for my shockburst brandish. To my surprise only tier 3 is playing lockdown. I am tier 2 so therefore I could not join the game. :( I think lockdown should remove tiers or give some form of reward that encourages players of different tier to play.
Tier 3 playing lockdown only???!!!

The problem I that certain factors don't scale well when going from tier to tier. HP pads heal the same number of pips regardless of whether you are in T3 or T1. Problem is that in low tiers 3-4 pips of HP actually is a rather large percentage meaning games can pretty much end when one team locks down one of the out of base HP pads.
Another thing is that T3 gear offers more choices at least in terms of weaponry since the armor section of LD viable gear is severely limited and unbalanced.
Another thing is that the regular SK game highly promotes improving your gear by crafting it up, it is only natural that most of the older players in the game stick to T3.
One last thing I actually blame the community a bit.... People play T3 because weapons are more powerful and more powerful weapons can get higher "DAMAGE SCORES" ...... naturally players want the biggest and T3 is the best place to do so. In fact it has gotten to a point that the real objective is sometimes even ignored by these people.

Seeing how Tier 1 and 2 Lockdown have been dead for years, your next best bet is to play Blast Network with a few friends/guildies until you get the recipes you need to advance. Or you could craft something else up, like the blaster or blast bomb you were handed (with free recipes too!) and grin and bear the monstrosity that is playing Tier 3 with underleveled gear.
There is no incentive to play lower tiers outside of different playstyles and combat lasting longer, and the community has just very little interest in that anymore. There shouldn't BE any benefits added just because you don't want to craft up something else.

My recommendation is to spend $50, and buy a Mixmaster. Spam that and you'll probably get everything you need.

I know what you mean, but OOO doesn't care about the state of PvP in this game. It makes you wonder why they force you to play PvP to obtain certain weapons.
