I once heard that, within a party, the more damage you do, the greater of value the lot you obtain, providing that no one stays dead.

That was something that I never personally looked into. But is there some truth to this? If so, I am happy to hang back with my weaker weapons during party runs.

Sounds like another silly myth to me. If you wanna try you can do a few runs where only one party member fights at all while three others kick back and relax and see how the loot is distributed.

doubt it

I have never heard this rumor. Where is the evidence to support it?

It seems that party size does not affect mission crown payouts. For example, you get about the same crowns if you're solo and do all of the damage, versus if you're in a party of four, doing one fourth of the damage, which would be half as much total damage as when solo (because the monsters have twice the health). This doesn't exactly contradict your rumor, but it makes your rumor seem pretty unlikely.

I heard it during a few of my runs but never really addressed it. And I could never find anything to substantiate that claim so I never sought evidence for it.

I highly doubt this is the

I highly doubt this is the case as your quality of loot scaling with your damage would inherently screw bombers over, as they typically do less damage than others.
