What if there was a billboard in the town square? you could post on it guild openings, clockworks expeditions and auction house sales. i know i could d the same here but how many gamers actually go here? I know you could chat but that is really short term. When you open it you have the option of choosing search post, check a list of a type of post and create a post. The newest post would go onto the front. When you create a post you choose what type (guild auction house or expeditions) then you choose how long the post stays on (max 3 days, lowest 5 hours) then you put in the post itself. It would be handy if you needed help with a mission, if you wanted to join a guild and all sorts of things.

It'd work extremely well as a crown sink.
I like the idea. It was included in many Guild Hall suggestion threads and I wish it were added to those, but Haven Billboard is a good idea too.
Having limits like "one post per month" and have it cost a couple thousand crowns to initially post the message would be great for stopping traders from dominating the billboard, and filtering out the trash, respectively.

There could be multiple billboards for different purposes. Say one for guilds, one for advertising wares ect. There would be a small fee of 2000 crowns and you can only post once a day. This would spread out the post to all of the boards and reduce the number for each board. Also the longest it could be on would be 1 day.
If it were to be just one billboard, it would be highly contested. The duration makes it very, very expensive as well. What I would see it being dominated by would be either merchants, buyers, or Guild Recruitment. The other possible "reasons" would be too trivial.
However, I do like your attempt for an alternative for promotion of something at least. It would be a step up from /zone chat. Can you think of an alternative, Phoenix?
