We all want a little something new to spiral knights, so how about a new line of swords? daggers would be around the speed of a flourish with a 4 hit combo and fairly close range. they would mostly deal normal damage until they are upgraded into a 3-4* weapon which would have an element of either fire, poison, or none. the charge would make the knight leap at an enemy and stab at it, and it could deal bonus damage when hitting enemies in the back.
2*= Dagger- normal damage
3*= Dangerous Dagger- normal damage
4*= Deadly Dagger- normal damage with poison status
4*= Blazing Dagger- split elemental and normal damage with fire status
5*= Dagger of Doom- normal damage with strong poison status
5*= Inferno Dagger- split elemental and normal damage with fire status

I feel it is way to simple. When i imagine daggers for spiral knights i imagine the hack g.u daggers at least when it comes to gameplay mechanics. The mechanics you described seem too simple and not too much fun from my perspective to watch. These daggers attack in a one two three pattern, though i would emphasize adding a 4th attack which is a kick from the knight. Anyway, daggers could definetly work for this game. Though i wonder if there is a role for it sense cutters are kinda taking there spot.
