Nerf the Celestial Saber

You know because right now it deals the same damage as a Leviathan Blade.... with Stun.....

EDIT:

Due to recent posts now the issue is:

Why didn't OOO tell us about the balancing feature of no flinch to avoid the uproar about seemingly unbalanced gear.

The other problem is a bit older with a lot of people greatly disliking Box only items.

I'm 50/50.

Leviathan already gets smacked around by anything that deals split damage against targets neutral to the second damage type. I honestly think the Calibur line itself should be buffed a good deal, so it can actually be a viable weapon to rely on, instead of being used as a Pinball simulator.

As for the Saber, I'd say keep the damage as it is and buff the Ascended Calibur/Leviathan Blade's damage, or even reduce the Celestial Saber's damage down to that of the Cold Iron Vanquisher.

One way or the other it needs to be put in it's place. If the Devs want it to be the only stun/spin charge sword then leave the unstatused version with the higher damage (like every other single weapon in this game). If they want to leave it's damage the same and add stun to the Leviathan Blade I'm all for that.... the only people who could complain are those who own a Celestial Saber (but for real..... what is the point of owning one if you never use the poor thing)..

My main gripe with the

My main gripe with the celestial saber its because its a "unique prize box" thing that have <1% to come out of a box, besides that it dont have anything different from a leviathan besides the "occasional" stun that can make its not like the sword do always stun on charge, it only does when it feel to do the stun so being a trusty sword like my leviathan blade (or better yet my lionheart) its not.

Then again deals random stun when feel it want to do stun, but then i say "well nvm i will use it like my leviathan", you know, using the 3 hit combo to flinch enemies and ocasional wall charge to do more damage or well to throw away f enemies, all went happy and dandy until... yeah "until" i have to use the 3 hit combo on an enemy...

So as usual... Black kat event came, went to play a bit for some kats to get some fetiches and sell (or well to sell black kat seraphynx) and as usual was going to take my leviathan and some other weapons but then i remember "hey i got the celestial saber better i should try it since it have stun anyway" then i meet the zombie and you know, those things are easy to flinch with 3 swing swords and what was my surprise? yeah Celestial saber dont flichn enemies on 3 hits like leviathan do... so yeah i got the damn slash on my head all thanks because "i though would flinch enemies on 3 hits like leviathans do... i mean its a leviathan reskin right? that deals random stun on charge..."

After a read on this thread i decided to go again to check if celestial saber still do the same thing on "Not flinching enemies on 3 hit" and also decided to test the 3 hit thing with: levaithan, lionheart and celestial blade, all on the same kind of enemies, Zombies.

Leviathan: Flinch the enemy
Lionheart: Flinch the enemy
Celestial: Dont Flich the enemy

That its one of the main reasons why i dont trust celestial saber as "weapon" like i do with my leviathan. dont flinch enemies on third hit must do a 5 hits to flinch a single enemy, charge that works like leviathan and do stun but hey its random so good luck if you think the stun will land when you are cornered and ready to launch the charge,

Humble opinion? its a bad bad sword, you cannon trust on this one, not flinch enemies on third hit its a pretty pretty bad feature of this sword.

If this sword gonna be change then i prefeer:

1) remove the stun feature and make it only a pretty leviathan reskin so i can use this sword without fear
2) or improve leviathan like adding the stun feature from this sword, and also fixing the "not fliching" on third hit, so then again this would end like reskin.

it need to be a reskin and not a need to be different weapon, OOO really made a bad decision to make "Prize only weapons" with this and the mixmaster that until this day there isnt a "weapon" variant that works like the mixmaster too.

Between different sword families yes there are imbalances.... but within each family they are pretty balanced....

Pure damage weapons deal more raw damage against enemies than status or Monster specific weapons.

Confirmation that Status free weapons deal more than their Status dealing sidegrades sidegrades
Final Flourish > Fearless Rigadoon
Acheron > Obsidian Edge

Confirmation that Monster Bonus free weapons deal more damage than their Monster Bonus Sidegrades
Leviathan Blade > Cold Iron Vanquisher
Master Blast Bomb > Heavy Deconstructor

Confirmation that Status weapons deal the same neutral damage as their Monster Bonus sidegrades
Obsidian Carbine = Sentenza
Dread Venom Striker = Wild Hunting Blade

(NOTE: these comparisons are only for raw damage against targets neutral to the damage and immune to the status)

The Celestial Saber does not fit the model that was set forth in the game.... it should be fixed to be on par with the damage of the CIV (much like the WHB and DVS relationship)

Is it fully leveled or at least the same level as your Leviathan blade?

If it is this should probably be something noted on the Wiki.....

fully leveled. all my swords are on lvl 10 except the candy poker (and any 1 star sword variant on my inventory)

Well this is certainly a development.... rather unfortunate with rare weapons (especially Normal ones) don't get used enough to get noticed. Worse that OOO didn't tell us about this. I'd like to have someone else confirm this lack of flinch but that seems unlikely considering the rarity of the item.

if a find how to make gyazo to screen capture gifs more than 3 segs, or a similar program (free like gyazo because im not going to download Trials versions) that make a gif from a capture, i would do the testing with the zombies again.

This Sword is Very Rare, but they'll keep it on Leviathan Blade's power and making it extremely expensive. Not a lot of people have those stuff except Unparalled. and people consider it it's not quite good and so they're not planning on wasting all their money on those.

The problem was that this weapon was unbalanced. It seemed to exhibit "power creep".

Now the issue is more OOO didn't tell us about the balancing feature of no flinch and that this is a pay to get exclusive item (meaning it must be bought from OOO and put on the AH for the rest of the community to even have a chance.

BTW I could care less about Para, was a decent guild but he AFKs too often in missions and is now trying to control the SK market.
