So yes I know there has been dual wielding threads since the beginning of Cradle. 99% are about wielding 2 weapons and sacrificing your shield.
Mine is a bit different.
Mine would introduce a new shop in which you can purchase conversion tickets. With these tickets you can convert certain 5* weapons into shields.
These shields would have damage/status resists similar to the ones they dealt as a weapon. The weapon Perks would be based more on the weapon you convert.

Basically:
Slow weapons (BAB, GF, DA, Callahan) = grants bombs MSI or guns/swords ASI
Midspeed weapons (Brandish, Nitronome, Valiance = grants CTR
High speed weapons (Cutter, Flourish, Shard, Antigua) = grant damage
______
Natural damage perks would transfer over too.
Something like the CIV or WHB would turn into shields that offered that monster bonus to swords but would also gain their other respective buff.
The Antigua lines would boost the monster buff to guns.
etc.

NOTE: Reskins, event items, DLC, promo box items cannot be converted
NOTE2: All items must be 5* to convert
NOTE3: When converting a weapon with UVs you will receive a unique ticket to take to Punch, he will apply 3 new UVs to the weapon. These new UVs will be of the same values but different Perks. Example: You convert your ASI VH Acheron into a shield..... Punch will then apply a new UV that is a Random VH UV. These tickets can only be used on the shield that was converted and nothing else.
Interesting idea, but then we've got so many potential shields to work with.
Definitely better than the "two weapons is totally balanced" approach, but this would more or less be bad in terms of defensive shielding, and throw shield balance out the window (offensive capabilities on more than 2 shields? Here we go...).
Variety you could get would be pretty good, but I would honestly rather see a shield rework or new shields with combat abilities rather than converting weapons into shields.
