About Energy Use

Hey everyone! i recently paid real money to buy energy and was just curious about any tips you guys have on best using it?
What is the most profitable way to use my CE. I want to use it carefully because i paid real money for it.
is it best to run the tiers, gain crowns that way, then buy more CE in the trade?
or best just to collect crowns by playing on your ME while reserving your CE for crafting when you need it?
Thanks a bunch!!
Pretty much what Majic said -
Best use of energy are crafting slowly, offsetting with 100 mist a day.
If you need cr you can do a jelly king run, or put the ce on the market, both will net you about the same gain.
I would strongly advise you DON'T ce revive, or craft w/o offsetting by your mist. You'll burn it away very fast, without much to show for it.
Don't give into peer pressure. I burned thorough $20 of CE in 1 day because free user's were telling me that I should pay to heal them in the clockwork because I was paying to play. Then they went ahead to hog the treasure boxes for themselves. Lucky I am over 18 and I have a job so my parents could care less how I spend my money as long as I am saving most of my pay check for retirement. Don't be generous with your CE to other users unless you feel they will be a valuable partner in the future.
Also when you die get other people to heal you. Don't waist it unless you feel things are getting really bad.
rabbit - all treasure is given to everyone, no matter who picks it up. All crystals, crowns, and heat are given to everyone, not even divided. Materials are given to a player determined by the game, regardless of who picks it up. Only vita tanks and potions are given to whoever grabs them.
So don't get pissy when ppl dash into treasure boxes :\
But you're right - do NOT waste energy reviving random ppl, paying for elevator tabs, or opening treasure rooms. CE is perfectly wasted by any of these uses.
Once I hit 4 tier gear I could make more crowns on a good run then CE costs. Even with the really high prices of CE I can make enough to buy more CE and then a have about 1/3 left over on a good run and average run usually leaves me still profiting but cutting it a little close. But almost always get team to revive you. Mech knights aren't worth the energy nor are Treasure rooms. Avoid Danger rooms unless you are extremly confidant in your abilites. Likewise if your struggling to get through a level and barely get through, it may be time to head up to haven. There plenty of times even recently where I advised my team to head back up to haven when we finished level 16, and level 17 was jelly king, because we didn't really have it together. Know when to cut your losses.
Also if you have a good run with some people friend them. Later on if you see then in dungeon with a free spot on there team join them specially if they are past the half way for their tier of dungeon there on as the last half is always the most profitable. I have several instances where I join a friend about to enter the jelly run and just we wind up in ember light another just reach the jelly king's garden and I run off to join them. Its a huge amount of profit.
What Majic and Rabbit said. Run on Mist Energy. Craft on Mist Energy. If you run anything on CE make sure it is highly profitable and will earn back enough crowns to buy 100 CE. Never pay for anybody else in the game, especially beggars. Only res yourself if you are scrounging for heat or saving the party and only do that on Mist Energy. The number should keep going up until you craft 5* gear. I'm able to craft up to 4* with a minimal hit and some saving. First, craft two 2* on mist. Then wait a day till I have full ME then craft the 3* for 100/100 me/ce, do it again. Then wait a day, play again with both pieces equipped and level them to 5 (usually takes about 60 me). Wait a half a day and craft one for 100/300 ce, do it again. Finally, wait a day and equip both pieces, start the long grind up to level 10. This is when you earn enough crowns to buy CE to craft your 5*. If you play on ME and a little maybe on CE and run mostly the second strata of any level you will earn about 200 CE a day (including selling mats etc). So after 8 days your stuff will be level 10 and you'll have the CE to make it 5*. Then you level up the 5* gear while saving up CE to spend the 800 on the next piece (takes 500 me and 800 ce to get 2x 4* pieces).
That's the most economical route. For faster play, just spend more of your CE depending on your personal wealth (outside the game).

Awesome posts guys! That makes a lot of sense and i appreciate you all taking the time to answer and help me out!!
again, thanks!!!

Once I hit 4 tier gear I could make more crowns on a good run then CE costs. Even with the really high prices of CE I can make enough to buy more CE and then a have about 1/3 left over on a good run and average run usually leaves me still profiting but cutting it a little close.
Yes, once you get good enough in skill, even if you are in 3* equipment, you can make more crowns than it costs to buy replacement CE in the cr<->CE exchange. However, for a new player who hasn't mastered all the techniques, they can usually make far more just selling CE on the exchange than they can in the clockworks. If there is something you really want and don't have the crowns, don't be afraid to sell some CE.
Besides other helpful suggestions, I'll add:
* Skill/knowledge is very important and can not be made up for with high grade equipment. You can make it deep into Tier 2 with only proto-equipment, if you know what you are doing. You can be easily killed in Tier 1 with all 5* equipment if you don't know what you are doing.
* Selling materials to the auction house can easily make the difference between making a profit off your CE and not. Putting stuff up so that it ends during the evening USA time with a starting bid of 1cr and no BIN will often get you close to the best price, again, knowledge can help you make much more in much less time.
* Check the AH before trying to craft your own equipment. Many of the best/most popular equipment is crafted by players in order to get good Unique Variants (UVs), and they sell the others on the AH just to recover costs. It is very common to be able to buy stuff cheaper on the AH than it would be to buy the recipe, then get the materials, then craft it your self, and it is usually far quicker too.
* Buying recipes at basil and selling them on the AH can make you a fair amount of crowns profit, but it can also be risky because the typical profit on a recipe isn't a whole lot more than the listing fee and/or the transaction fee. Recipes for unopular equipment often don't sell. Recipes for popular equipment often has too many recipes on the AH, forcing some to not sell. Recipes that players craft many of to try for UVs often don't sell because buying the equipment can be cheaper than the recipe. Everyone can try reselling recipes, which drives profits down.
I tend to limit myself to doing Clockworks runs on ME, and save CE for crafting higher-star items. Even when crafting I try to defray the CE cost with ME as much as I can. It's very tempting to slosh CE around with joyful abandon, but that burns through it pretty quickly.
That said, when I first got some CE I was pretty wasteful with it - paying for revives rather than waiting for other players to help me out, putting the entire party on my elevator tab, that kind of thing. I'm getting a bit low on it now, so I'm trying to be a bit more frugal until I can save up the real moneys to get the Starter Pack or something.
