Hello, my name in game is also Thotus, and I am a Spiral Knight player who joined after official launch.
I am pre-Rose Regalia.

Current Jelly King-running gear:
4* Faust
2* Fiery Vaporizer (UV Jelly - Med)
2* Wolver Set
2* Owlite Shield
No trinkets
No extra weapon slots

I don't see why everyone is complaining. Jellies are the easiest monster in the game, and it doesn't take but a knock-back to render them useless. I am frustrated with the new jellies, but not unhappy. The new jellies are simply a new challenge to overcome.

- Jellies record a spot, and, with a delay, release their spikes. Is this why some people record the "bug" of spike appearing after a jelly's death? My view on it is that the jelly recorded and fired the spike already--it just has to surface. You can always feel the timing of the spike, and the timing of your strikes.
- Shielding and avoidance is equally important in this game--think, can you guard a Lumber's attack with a 2* shield?
- I have not been able to get through the boss now, but the mini purple jellies are a much larger concern.

I have no issue with them per

I have no issue per say with the new jellies I mean I've killed a ton already in T3 its easy atk/shield/counteratk or just shield let them vine and then they don't do anything for a few seconds so pwn em.

My issue with them comes down strictly to the gap thing they shouldn't be able to vine across gaps there's no soil there it's open air so it makes no sense and it also extends their reach off screen which is total BS when you cannot even see them.

This needs to be fixed along with all the other gap issues, like the invisible rockets.

Definitely more challenging.

I have noticed that the Royal Jelly Palace does seem to be noticeably harder - before the spiky jelly update me and a friend or two would usually be able to get through the first two strata without too much trouble, even if we'd usually stop short of taking on the Jelly King himself.

Since the spiky jelly update, though, it's got tougher. Same gear (Ash Tail set with Dark Thorn Shield and Ascended Calibur, all at level 10.), but we seem to burn through revives a lot faster than before. I can't help but think that this is because jellies are suddenly a lot more dangerous, though I wouldn't have expected the switch to piercing damage to make that much of a difference.
