I have a RockCandy brand XBox 360 controller. When I select the "Gamepad" option in the "Controls" part of options, I am unable to use my controller. However, if I use "Custom Settings" and manually select every button, then it works. This has become quite the nuisance, because every time I close the game I have to do this process over. Is there any way to have the default controls work?

Thank you, once I set the controls after running it as administrator it worked. Thank you so much, so one else was able to answer my question.
If you have a desktop or Start menu link for Spiral Knights please try right clicking it and then selecting "Run as administrator". If you set the controls while the game is running like this it should save your preferences properly. Once you have your ideal layout feel free to launch the game normally.
