NOTE-
Nobody even looks at any threads in tech. Disc. so i decided post this here.(do not argue with me. :P )

The problem-

Ive recently upgraded to win10 and sk wont launch... So i decided to uninstall it.
When i tried installing it, it will show some wait time between 72-800 hours. ( i do not multitask while im installing it.) but guess what? It wont install!

I do NOT want to reset my pc back to win8 just for the game.. Please someone help me!

Thx in advance!

um

Your post could be a lot clearer.

* You decided to uninstall Spiral Knights? Or Windows 10?

* After that you were installing something? Spiral Knights, Windows 10, or Windows 8?

Does Windows 10 come with Java? Is the version compatible with Spiral Knights? (In the past some Java versions have not worked well.)

What video card do you have, SK has some problems with older Intel integrated graphics because they don't have Windows 10 drivers. That seems to be most of the problems people are having.

Bopp, I think you're nitpicking just a bit too much. It's pretty obvious that he decided to uninstall and reinstall SK because it wouldn't open after he upgraded to Windows 10.

Upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7 / 8 does not erase your programs or other files such as documents, downloads, etc. I think it's safe to say unless Java shot out a new version in the time you were upgrading, it's not the issue.

It's probably an issue with your grahpics device, as Flowchart pointed out. Cheapest way to fix this would be downgrading to Windows 8, although you may also consider buying a new pc / graphics card. Not sure if there's any other workaround.

genuine actually

I understand why you think I'm being petty, but each of my questions above was genuine.

* On the Mac, upgrading to a newer version of Java has caused SK not to work anymore, at least once.

* The original poster didn't say whether he reformatted his drive during the upgrade, thus perhaps requiring a new installation of Java. Also I wouldn't put it past Microsoft to overwrite Java anyway. They have a cold relationship at best.

Fortunately you and Flowchart have provided more useful advice. Cheers.

Zaffy-Laffy and I pretty much stopped posting in the tech support subforum.
Helios seems to try and get to threads, but their visits are infrequent at best (current statistics show ~2-3 weeks between posts).

Also, Bopp is getting at the difficulty of diagnosing issues.

Hi, compulsive broken link fixer here.

Before anyone asks, Skepti's link is not broken, but is rather non-url text visible by viewing the source.

Thanks and have a nice day.

I hadn't bothered to look, but there is a significant amount of text in there.

delicious sauce

Broken links annoy me. Not as much as people who link to image hosting sites with a bazillion ads that load before the actual image you've linked, but still.

It would have been better to put this in a place the OP could easily access in my opinion.
