Your Magick skills level is too low to change the color of an object (not that Magick is really that useful here.)
You instead use your painting skill to paint the button green before pressing it. Seeing as the button is green and not red, nothing happens.
Your Pressing Buttons Of Colors Other Than Red skill leveled up to level 2.
The button becomes red once more.
The wolver was too fast for you to catch and escaped, not that you can use wolver tails to make paint anyway. You instead use some leftover slime gel you found in the pantry to make the paint instead.
You paint the horse. You didn't do a very good job at doing it though because of your low level.

Magick can do anything so rules cant restrict it unless i say so, i use the PAINT BOMB ti make a gren button so it admires the horse, and it is size 999999999999999999999999 paint bomb so make sure my skill levels up super high! If it doesnt i threw 9999999999999999999 more paint bombs for a huge Magick skill level up because i obviously used Magick to throw the paint bombs

Seeing as the wolver is the original poster, he naturally has 50 in all stats and uses his level 50 running skill to get away.
You on the other hand have to stop and take a breath every second due to your level 1 stamina skill.
Your Running skill increased to level 2!
The wolver decides to summon some much weaker wolvers for you to interract with before leaving.
The ghost spooks the horse, who runs off somewhere before returning later.
Unfortunately you only have enough paint left to make a single size very small paint bomb that isn't even green, but rather a mix of colors, which is the only way you could fill it.
You toss it at the button. It doesn't seem to give you any experience in painting, but it does give you some bomb tossing experience.

You'd be unable to throw it using magick anyway, that's what the psychic powers skill is for.
