Currently, everything in a guild is paid with crowns. But once the guild goes highly inactive, the guild is doomed. Why? Upkeep. Pay for upgrades.
So rather than that, why not use Guild Points for everything.
Guild Points would be easy to get, but requires a lot to buy. Due to this, upkeep would be removed.
A few ways to earn Guild Points:
Log in:+5
Complete a Clockworks Level with a Guild member:+2 per player, requires 2 players however.
Pay 5K crowns:+1K(why not :P).
Prestige Missions:Give 1/4 of Prestige from the mission.
Might everything however cost X1.5 the price of the current crown price. Like Alchemy Room would be 63.7k Guild Points instead.

Well..... a smart guildmaster would remove inactive guildmates and downsize the guild by removing expansion rooms. This would open up slots for active players and lower the upkeep.....

This sort of points system is actually a very very powerful way to add incentive towards doing things- if you want players to act as a group, just give them bonus points for doing so and they'll naturally form a community.

Lets say we renamed the points to something more generic like clockwork cookies (CC) and made them a token type. Imagine this token type behaved as follows-

Finish a level: 10 CC, + 10 CC per living guildmate that is in your party + 5 CC for all living non-guild members
Finish a mission with someone in the party finishing it for the first time (everyone alive): 100 CC

Then you enable some sort of prize wheel for players that costs a good 200 CC and pays out with goodies, for instance-

80% = an assortment of usually mediocre materials
15% = crowns/rarities
5% = 2* gear with random UVs, accessories, silvery keys, shadow keys, good stuff

And suddenly, there is incentive to go on guild runs, bring newer players, learn, all of that.. because if you do it, then you'll get to pull on the wheel and feel disappointed.

Why not have it so that you can dump them into the guild at many different volumes and receive better rewards for ones who save up more.

For example:

65 CC gets you a 1* box which can hold 1 star items (materails, CR/rarities, gear)
150 for 2*
500 for 3*
1600 for 4*
3500 for 5*

As a side note you would get extra CC as a reward for story missions.
