I have had two problems with the regional restrictions on Steam Spiral Knights.

***** Rock *****

1. Oops, Sorry! An error was encountered while processing your request:This item is currently unavailable in your region

> Spiral Knights on Steam can't be downloaded inside China.

***** (ノ`Д´)ノ==== ┻━━┻ *****

2. This game was activated with a product code that is valid only in a specific geographic region. Since you are not currently in that region, Spiral Knights is not available to play.

> Spiral Knights on Steam can't be downloaded outside China where it was 'activated'.

***** Hard Place *****

My account, as you may be able to guess, is Steam-bound. This means I can't use web clients, and must use the Steam client. The problem is that Steam won't bloody let me get my client :E...

I contacted Spiral Knights support, but I think mistook my issue as one of logging in, perhaps I wasn't clear enough. So basically I'm waiting for another reply, and decided to come here to ask : has there ever been a case where a Steam-Bound account was unbound? It seems to be the only possible way to ever get back on my old account at this point in time, and I would rather not have to give up my old character.

Update

I managed to get a Steam Spiral Knights client by getting a backup from someone I know.

Now it's telling me that "Either there is a temporary network outage or the server is not yet fully operational. Please wait a moment before reconnecting."

Has anybody ever had their steam-bound accounts unbound? I'm getting nowhere with steam right now, and I'd really just prefer that my account be unbound...

Edit : The client stopped working after the first time it opened... Now it's gone back to the old region restriction box ;c

Yes, they have the ability to convert Steam accounts to non-Steam ones and have done it before.

Whether they'll do it is a different matter since their policy is usually not to, guess you'd better wait for their reply though.

Hmph.

I don't know what's going on with China (not to be racist), but these limitations are way too restrictive.
Either create a new account on Steam, move to other country or use web client.
