More unique promo only weapons
It's not the greatest weapon but it's just gotten really old how they keep putting new items behind walls. If you want to keep a game running you have to keep both the Free to play and pay to play people happy. So far it seems like no one is happy with this.
I'm just getting sick and tired of seeing items that could change gameplay kept from the playerbase. I'd rather have them constantly make DLCs like the OCH, at least a F2P can horde up CE to get it that way. With these prize box items a F2P player would have to practically sell their soul to get one.
The worst part is that these items are in limited quantities, if a player with one of these items leaves that item is lost to everyone.
Yep, that's pretty much what everybody is saying, in the original thread about this topic.
I mean I don't mind more threads about this... even if it is ripe for the graveyardening, the consensus that these types of weapons are seen negatively should be heard.
im pretty sure this is what the community deserves for being compulsive/defender consumers on bad promos.
Okay with unique gear in promos only if they have a clear F2P alternative (similar at worst). However, throwing different status effects or game mechanics at us don't have alternatives is bad.
I would say slumber has done unique gear the best, however the pillow could probably drop the stun and just have a +2 to undead, +2 to gremlins or something.
This current marketing pattern is rather painfully limiting. Now, I am no carrier of insightful knowledge about what goes behind these things, but I can not honestly have respect for whoever happens to direct these promotions in this exact manner and/or nonchalantly thinks that this is fine at this rate. And quite frankly this isn't how I want to have the situation.
I would much sooner find success in people trying to provide something long due to their community at an apparent loss than being too selective of their customers for a quick profit. But I'm just as well convinced that this run of crummy promotions is causing plenty to lose for everyone, with a lot of people coming out none the wiser. You guys figure this one out.
Despite all the passing months of this practice taking over, there's still time to turn things around. Plenty of established and flexible options are still on stand-by, waiting for just this sort of shortcoming to manage things out. Where are those options?
There's already a thread about this here, in which you have already given your reaction?
