I did this once. It doesn't work if you have those one friends that you simply can't help but talk to because it's a joy to speak to them. I did, I don't know about you, but you can try.
Also, make it a blood oath.

Also, you can still talk (somewhat) normally by just quoting single words, like -
"From" "this" "day" "forth"
