EU RLD isn't in the best shape just now, yet I see plenty EU players still; many too busy organizing EU GVG with half complete teams (loving the filling up with T2 knights).
Play EU RLD instead! Most people have made a habit of going straight to US, where they'll just suffer higher ping, making it hard to compete and to just improve in general. We managed to get games running for a couple hours last Sunday. On a side not, it's much easier to get at least 8 people for RLD than it is to get 2 guild teams for GVG; that'll get you playing faster too.
