There's a lot of people telling me different things, some people are saying that Tier 3 is pure damaging types meaning normal would be the least common type. But others are telling me some enemies do partial normal damage. If anyone can tell me what monsters do partial normal damage compared to pure that'd be great as well.

The wiki doesn't say anything about this, and the help tab in-game says that "Monsters can utilize attacks that deal pure special damage (PIERCING, ELEMENTAL or SHADOW). Equip yourself appropriately!". Does that mean that all monsters do pure or just that they can.

Anyone want to clear this up because I haven't seen any topics on this, only on Tier 2 and Tier 1.

Hmmm

I always thought it was pure types in T3, then I checked some of the monsters in the Wiki and Robos do Normal and Elemental with their slashes, so does that make it half and half in T3 and 75% normal in T2?

This pretty much would mean that the Dragon Scale Shield is the best shield for T3 if there's really only a few enemies than will do normal damage.

There's definitely monsters

There's definitely monsters dealing normal damage in Tier 3. I'm assuming anything with red attack marks is primarily normal? I think Lumbers do and they really hurt. Blast cubes, Gremlin melee attackers, robo melee attacks.

To some extent though, you need to figure out what is hardest for you to dodge in Tier 3 and cater your armor to that. Even with 5* armor, you'll be taking lots of damage if you can't dodge/shield most attacks.

Well

I think he's more asking about wether it's pure damage or some that deal normal damage partially, I've heard people say that in T3 some attacks are part normal damage also.

As far as I know, the damage in T3 is pure..
If the attack indicator is green; that attack is 100% elemental..

The -only- way to know what a

The -only- way to know what a monster's attack is dealing for sure is to take a hit and look at the color of the ''pips'' that fly off of you.

The color of their ''charge'' doesn't properly indicate what some monsters deal.

Yes it does.. Eccept for in

Yes it does.. Eccept for in T!, where whatever color the attack indicator (AI) has, it deals normal damage.
In T2 any color deals 50% normal and 50% of whatever color the AI had.
In T3 any color deals 100% of what ever color the AI had.

So in short, a green attack..

..in T1 deals 100% normal damage
..in T2 deals 50% normal and 50% elemental damage.
..in T3 deals 100% elemental damage.

BUT
if the attack also carries a status effect, it might deal aditional damage depending on the effect.. with the same Tier damage rules..

Lets say a zombie in FSC hits you..
That is shadow damage.. but that hit also made you burn, which every other second makes you take elemental damage.
But the AI is shadow, couse the initial attack was all shadow, carrying a status effect, which was burn..
