Stuck in lava

There arent many cases of lvls becoming impossible to complete, but vana is one of them. Im soloing vana when lava falls down trapping me completely. This has happened a few times to me now and its kinda annoying not being able to complete the run. Not sure what there is to be done but plz fix this somehow, one little mistake (if it even is my fault, the lava is kinda hard to predict) shouldnt make the boss impossible to beat.

I also mentioned this in a thread at least a year ago. The solution is: Devote more of your time to putting out fire with water. Yes, this will slow down your killing. But if you don't, then you risk getting trapped.

I don't think it's really a bug in need of a fix. It's a reasonable feature, albeit a frustrating one.

I don't think I've ever had it happen to me to the point where reviving would do nothing, though this might be because I don't stand under the yellow spots that signify the sky falling, lava appearing and my death.. I wouldn't want the devs to devote their time to fixing the Vanaduke fight, because it functions absolutely fine and is effective as content.

You know what the players would say if they got a fix? Oh, great, a bugfix.. now how about that mission expansion/arcade redux? A much bigger bug would be the shard bomb invincibility frames, as that basically cuts out a huge chunk of the damage bombs available.. If there's ever been a case of better late than never, the shard bombs are it.

I think he means when lava falls and clips into you so you cant move at all and (for obvious reasons) cant get to the water

Fehzor, I agree that this is a low-priority fix, if it deserves fixing at all. But to be clear we're not talking about fire falling on you. We're talking about fire falling near you, closing off your last escape path through the fire.

For example, suppose that the fire forms a big C, and you go into the middle of the C. Then more fire falls, closing the C off to an O. You're standing safely in the middle thinking, "What will I do now?"

I don't remember whether Vanaduke's mace can knock you out of the trap. But Vanaduke's mask certainly can't, and Vanaduke's dead corpse certainly can't.

the shadow fire is a square that you cant get into (or out of), so it will just act as a painful wall if vana knocks you into it

The guards can push you out with their spears, just hope you didn't die in the corner. Vana backs away if you're dead so won't be too helpful.

Oh. I thought they meant all of it falling around you in one go... it's your own fault if you let Vanaduke box you in like that XD. Just watch for it happening and put out the fires to create paths and you'll be fine. Now it's even less of an issue.

If it was completely my fault, then i guess i would have to accept it, but when a lag spike can just end the run right there its a little annoying. And no, vana or the guards cant push you thru the lava, spark reviving doesn't do anything either

A lag spike coinciding with a fire spawn that spawns as a trap is probably less than 1/1000 chance, so that's not valid. And yes, the guards can push you through the fire, but only if there is a space that is too small to get through on your own.

You probably just need to play more attentively. Basically, just stay out of the light spots that form after a smash, circle vana clockwise (lower chance of getting hit since hes a lefty), and don't stay in the corners too long.

It's a bug, a glitch, a bad design in terms of collision boxes. I wish people would stop this gormless defense of an attack that has the possibility of freezing your character in the one spot until they die, and then continuing to kill your character every time they revive. In balance, It's the equivalent of an attack that puts you to uninterruptable sleep for 99 seconds and the attack simultaneously removes your emergency revive. It's a permadeath attack in a game that doesn't have permadeath. No other attack in the entire game kills you in one hit, and no other attack in the entire game continues to damage you continuously after you revive.
