Its about time thisgot opened up again. I know the green jelly used to clobber fresh recruits but wheres the fun in danger room if its not risky!
Giant green jelly!
Maybe they should have a crafted item to restrict access to only those skilled enough to obtain the materials (+crafting costs).
Maybe they should have it be a prestige mission with rank restriction.
Oh wait, that's what they did with tortodrones.
You know I want this.. :P
@SkepticRaven
I thought the giant green jelly was more akin to just jelly king 2.0? Would jelly king 2.0 would be good enough to build an entire event around? It feels like it would be a smidgeon on the weak side.
All I'm saying is... Why can't Vangaurds fight the Ironwood Sentinel or replay nooby missions solo mode...
Why not bring back REAL Tortodrones and Jelly Green Giant while we're at it? They can't be THAT hard.
I mean... I know they said it was too hard back then, but look at the game these days.
Shadow Lairs? Danger Rooms? Some of the Rank Missions?
A real Tortodrone and JGG would be like comparing being afraid of hamsters to guinea pigs...
IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.
There is a difference between hard and broken. The original Tortodrones were removed because they'd stun-lock. A couple years later, they fixed it. Why do you want them to unfix it?
And the JGG sounds like a really boring fight. Grim Repeater, pow pow pow, GG.
I really think the cockworks need stuff like the giant jelly and tortodrones. Make them rare enough so that players dont get bored right away. Also, what happened to the updates to arcade? Its so long ago anything was said about that that ive forgot what it was called.
@Uberer:
Arcarde-Redux. The first part has been done, the second one got announced and since then never touched officially.
@Traev:
If old Tortodrones were only broken because of broken stun Status, then it would be legit to get them back now with currently fixed stun status.
Also there are always These pros that pewpewpew, gg everything - but for the majority certain fights offer a challange; so why not?
Ontopic:
The green jelly room could be split in two versions:
the first Version would be for T1 and is the room as it is right now (not accessible) while in T2 and T3 you have another Version of that map with the room beeing open. On this way new Players will not 'stack their skulls' (or how that quote was) while T2 and T3 Levels offer a new extra.
Tortodrones:
I would like to see them inside the game aside the Event.
As mentioned above - if they were removed because of a broken Status that got fixed now, why not adding them back now with fixed status? By what I snapped out, Tortos are friendly until you provoce them, so it is a challange to those who wonna get it hard.
just take the dead/deactivated tortodrone scenario rooms and replace them with living ones
and even the aurora isles rooms that are a few boxes with a lot of rows of leaves (I think everyone knows what I mean) could just replace the lumbers with one or two of them
Tortodrones might be something you can activate for like, 5 energy or something. Like what Vohtarak said, allow us to activate them and then potentially fight them (as they would spawn neutral).
Green jelly giant really should just be open to all. Now that we have both tiers and difficulty selections, even a tier 1 green jelly giant wouldn't cause as much grief to a new player, especially since they'd likely be playing on the normal difficulty.
Personally I'd like to see a tortomega boss fight in a fiend boss level, maybe with an occasional tortodrone miniboss fight leading up to the whole thing. Making tortodrones an event thing would be fine, but having a tortomega be a boss fight would allow for a much harder single tortodrone for us to fight while maintaining everything that made us love fighting tortodrones themselves.
You know, the best part about tortodrones being in the wild (in scenario rooms) would be that they could drop limited numbers of ancient shells, allowing players to go for tortofists at a very slow rate. I'm imagining the dark+fiend ones to be harder and grant 3-5 (I think that's what it was?) on elite, with the normal ones to grant 1 on elite, possibly 1-2 in T3 on elite, and only appear on elite to begin with.
I mean, if it destroyed newer players, why couldn't they just nerf it in lower tiers?
Besides, now there's a tier restriction. Newer players will only fight weaker versions now (unless they get an invite to a deeper tier from a player who is allowed there).
